Abstract

Digital signature is a form of information system development to increase the integrity, authenticity, the prevention of denial of sending data (non-repudiation), and to maintain the confidentiality of the data contents to perform the encryption function of the data transmission. Case studies that the author is trying to do is research in the form of digital signature and encryption functions which implement data transmission via email by using the digital signature, and encryption on the Open PGP. At the end of the research study the author expectation is to obtain results which can be proved that the function of the digital signature can be implemented effectively, and can be concluded about the operation and performance of the functions of digital signature and encryption in the process of sending data / information via email. Keyword: Digital Signature, Email,Open PGP, Integrity, Authenticity, NonRepudiation, Encryption. Digital signature adalah bentuk dari pengembangan sistem informasi yang berfungsi untuk meningkatkan integritas (integrity), otentikasi (authenticity), pencegahan penyangkalan pengiriman data (non-repudiation), dan dapat menjaga kerahasiaan isi data (confidentiality) dengan melakukan fungsi enkripsi terhadap komunikasi pengiriman data. Studi kasus yang penulis coba lakukan adalah dalam bentuk penelitian dari fungsi digital signature dan enkripsi yang mana penulis melakukan implementasi pengiriman data melalui email dengan menggunakan fungsi digital signature, dan enkripsi pada Open PGP. Pada akhir penelitian diharapkan dapat diperoleh hasil yang dapat membuktikan bahwa fungsi dari digital signature dapat dijalankan secara efektif, dan dapat diperoleh kesimpulan mengenai cara kerja dan kinerja dari fungsi digital signature, dan enkripsi pada proses pengiriman data/informasi melalui email.
