Abstract
The Lack of information about the gastritis disease makes people have little knowledge of the early symptoms of this disease. Usually, the arising symptoms of this disease are not too heavy and people tend to underestimate it. Due to delays in treatment of this disease may cause the disease getting worse. Therefore, we need an expert system for diagnosing the gastritis disease along with suggestions or solutions required in accordance with the medical. In general, there are two types of gastritis disease, namely chronic gastritis and acute gastritis. The methods for building this web-based expert system are forward chaining and backward chaining. References were taken from the internet, books and a general practitioner, dr.Hermanto Kurniawan. As for software, this system uses PHP as the programming language and MySQL as its database. This expert system generates the diagnosis of gastritis disease and other diseases whose symptoms similar to the gastritis disease with options to choose the method between backward chaining and forward chaining. Terbatasnya informasi membuat masyarakat memiliki sedikit pengetahuan akan gejala-gejala awal penyakit gastritis. Seringkali gejala-gejala yang timbul tidak dirasa berat dan masyarakat cenderung meremehkannya. Akibat keterlambatan penanganan penyakit gastritis yang tidak tepat dapat menyebabkan penyakit tersebut semakin parah. Oleh karena itu, kita perlu sistem pakar untuk mendiagnosis penyakit gastritis bersama dengan saran atau solusi yang diperlukan sesuai dengan medis. Secara umum, jenis penyakit gastritis ada dua yaitu gastritis kronis dan gastritis akut. Metode untuk membangun sistem pakar berbasis web ini yaitu forward chaining dan backward chaining. Referensi yang digunakan berasal dari internet, buku dan seorang dokter umum, dr.Hermanto Kurniawan. Sedangkan untuk perangkat lunak, sistem ini menggunakan PHP sebagai bahasa pemrogramannya serta MySQL sebagai basis datanya. Sistem pakar ini menghasilkan diagnosis penyakit gastritis dan penyakit lain yang gejalanya mirip dengan penyakit gastritis dengan pilihan metode yang dapat dipilih user yaitu backward chaining atau forward chaining.
