Abstract
Mathematics is one of the important basic subjects and must be taught to elementary level students. Mathematics teaches how to solve a numerical problem which requires many steps and exercises to master, for example in the case of long divison. The time needed to master the long division problem is not enough when the learning process takes place only during school time, student has to do extra exercises at home. The author makes an application that can generate problem automatically and provide guidelines about the completion step. In addition, the system is also able to evaluate the response of students for each problem solving steps. This software is implemented by using Visual Basic for Applications and Microsoft Excel. With Visual Basic for Applications and Microsoft Excel, the process for making this application is not difficult because the advantages that exist in Microsoft Office Excel such as the availabilty of built-in cell, row, and column. Based on the test results, the application can display long division problem automatically, evaluating answers from the student, and successfully built using the Microsoft Excel platform. Keywords: Automatic problem generation, long division, mathematics, Visual Basic for Application, Microsoft Excel xi+80 pages; 20 figures; 10 tables; 13 attachments Matematika adalah salah satu mata pelajaran dasar yang penting dan wajib diajarkan untuk siswa tingkat dasar. Matematika mengajarkan cara berhitung yang membutuhkan banyak langkah dan latihan untuk dapat menguasainya, contohnya dalam kasus pembagian dengan cara bersusun pendek. Waktu latihan untuk menguasai pembagian dengan cara bersusun pendek tidak akan cukup jika hanya mengandalkan proses belajar ketika jam sekolah berlangsung, sehingga waktu latihan di rumah juga diperlukan. Penulis membuat aplikasi yang dapat membuat soal pembagian dengan cara bersusun pendek secara ototmatis dan memberikan panduan-panduan langkah penyelesaian soal. Selain itu, sistem juga mampu mengevaluasi jawaban dari siswa untuk masing-masing langkah pengerjaan. Aplikasi perangkat ajar perhitungan matematika pembagian dengan cara bersusun pendek ini diimplementasikan dengan menggunakan Visual Basic for Application dan Microsoft Excel. Dengan Visual Basic for Application dan Microsoft Excel, proses pembuatan aplikasi menjadi mudah karena memanfaatkan keunggulan yang ada di dalam Microsoft Office Excel yaitu cell, baris, dan kolom yang sudah tersedia. Berdasarkan hasil pengujian, aplikasi ini dapat menampilkan soal pembagian bersusun pendek secara otomatis, mengevaluasi jawaban dari siswa, dan berhasil dibangun menggunakan platform Microsoft Excel.
