Abstract
The increase in the number of motor vehicles in Indonesia has led to significant air pollution, with exhaust emissions are the main contributor to urban air pollution. This study aims to analyze and compare exhaust emission levels (HC, CO, NOx) and fuel consumption among three types of RON 95 fuels with different formulations, namely Pertamax Green (RON 95 + etanol 5%), BP Ultimate 95 (Active Technology additive), dan Vivo Revvo 95 (Revvo Power Formula additive) on two-wheeled vehicles. The research employed a quantitative experimental method with a comparative approach on a two-wheeled Yamaha MT25 vehicle (250 cc, compression ratio 11.6:1, Direct Injection System). Measurement parameters included exhaust gases and fuel consumption using UN Regulation No. 40 standards with the Worldwide Harmonized Motorcycle Emissions Certification Procedure (WMTC) class 3-2 method in an ISO/IEC 17025 accredited laboratory. Each fuel type was tested with 6 (six) repetitions. The result showed that all emission values for the three fuels were below the UNR40 quality standards (HC 0,330 g/km; NOx 0,220 g/km; CO 2,620 g/km). The lowest average HC emissions were produced by Vivo Revvo 95 (0,073 g/km), the lowest CO emissions by Pertamax Green (2.321 g/km), and the lowest NOx emissions by BP Ultimate 95 (0,050 g/km). The highest fuel consumption (most efficient) was obtained by Pertamax Green with an average of 40,18 km/liter, followed by Vivo Revvo 95 at 39.67 km/liter, and BP Ultimate at 38.677 km/liter. This result did not align with the initial hypothesis predicting BP Ultimate 95 as the most fuel-efficient, and indicates that fuel density plays an important role in determining fuel consumption efficiency under the dynamic WMTC test. In conclusion, no single fuel type is absolutely superior across all parameters; Pertamax Green excels in CO emissions and fuel consumption efficiency, Vivo Revvo 95 excels in HC emissions, while BP Ultimate 95 excels in NOx emissions. Peningkatan jumlah kendaraan bermotor di Indonesia telah menyebabkan pencemaran udara yang signifikan, di mana emisi gas buang menjadi kontributor utama polusi udara perkotaan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis dan membandingkan kadar emisi gas buang (HC, CO, NOx) serta konsumsi bahan bakar antara ketiga jenis bahan bakar RON 95 dengan formulasi berbeda, yaitu Pertamax Green (RON 95 + etanol 5%), BP Ultimate 95 (aditif Active Technology), dan Vivo Revvo 95 (aditif Revvo Power Formula) pada kendaraan roda dua. Penelitian menggunakan metode eksperimen kuantitatif dengan pendekatan komparatif pada kendaraan roda dua Yamaha MT25 (250 cc, rasio kompresi 11.6:1, sistem Direct Injection). Parameter pengukuran meliputi gas buang dan konsumsi bahan bakar menggunakan standar UN Regulation No. 40 dengan metode Worldwide Harmonized Motorcycle Emissions Certification Procedure (WMTC) kelas 3-2 pada laboratorium terakreditasi ISO/IEC 17025. Setiap jenis bahan bakar diuji sebanyak 6 kali pengulangan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa seluruh nilai emisi ketiga bahan bakar berada di bawah baku mutu UNR40 (HC 0,330 g/km; NOx 0,220 g/km; CO 2,620 g/km). Rata-rata emisi HC terendah dihasilkan oleh Vivo Revvo 95 (0,073 g/km), emisi CO terendah Pertamax Green (2.321 g/km), dan emisi NOx terendah BP Ultimate 95 (0,050 g/km). Konsumsi bahan bakar tertinggi diperoleh Pertamax Green dengan rata-rata 40,18 km/liter, diikuti Vivo Revvo 95 sebesar 39.67 km/liter, dan BP Ultimate sebesar 38.677 km/liter. Hasil ini tidak sejalan dengan hipotesis awal yang memprediksi BP Ultimate 95 sebagai bahan bakar paling efisien, dan mengindikasikan bahwa densitas bahan bakar berperan penting dalam menentukan efisiensi konsumsi bahan bakar. Kesimpulannya, tidak terdapat satu jenis bahan bakar yang unggul secara mutlak pada seluruh parameter, Pertamax Green unggul pada emisi CO dan efisiensi konsumsi bahan bakar, Vivo Revvo 95 unggul pada emisi HC, sedangkan BP Ultimate 95 unggul pada emisi NOx.
