Abstract
PT Yayang Mandiri is a company operating in the interior design and construction industry that faces challenges related to its production facility layout. The separation of raw material storage areas and the arrangement of workstations that do not follow the production sequence have resulted in inefficient material flow and increased material handling distances. This study aims to develop an improved facility layout to enhance the efficiency of material flow within the workshop. The variables analyzed include facility layout, the closeness relationship between work areas, space requirements, and material handling distance. The research sample consisted of eight work areas involved in the production process, selected using a purposive sampling technique. This study employed a quantitative approach using the Systematic Layout Planning (SLP) method. Data were analyzed using the Operation Process Chart (OPC), From-To Chart (FTC), Activity Relationship Chart (ARC), Activity Relationship Diagram (ARD), and Space Relationship Diagram (SRD) to develop alternative facility layouts. The results indicate that the initial facility layout had a total material handling distance of 44.9 meters. Alternative 1 reduced the distance to 22,5 meters, achieving an efficiency improvement of 49,89%, while Alternative 2 reduced the distance to 19 meters with an efficiency improvement of 57.68 %. Therefore, Alternative 2 was selected as the preferred layout because it provides a more effective material flow, optimizes the utilization of workshop space, and improves overall operational efficiency. PT Yayang Mandiri merupakan perusahaan yang bergerak di bidang interior dan konstruksi dengan permasalahan pada tata letak fasilitas produksi. Kondisi area penyimpanan bahan baku yang terpisah dan penempatan area kerja yang belum mengikuti urutan proses produksi menyebabkan aliran material menjadi kurang efektif serta meningkatkan jarak perpindahan material. Penelitian ini bertujuan menghasilkan usulan tata letak fasilitas yang lebih optimal untuk meningkatkan efisiensi aliran material pada workshop PT Yayang Mandiri. Variabel yang dianalisis meliputi tata letak fasilitas, hubungan kedekatan antar area kerja, kebutuhan ruang, dan jarak perpindahan material. Sampel penelitian terdiri atas delapan area kerja yang terlibat dalam proses produksi dengan teknik pengambilan sampel purposive sampling. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode Systematic Layout Planning (SLP). Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan Operation Process Chart (OPC), From-To Chart (FTC), Activity Relationship Chart (ARC), Activity Relationship Diagram (ARD), dan Space Relationship Diagram (SRD) sebagai dasar penyusunan alternatif tata letak. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tata letak awal memiliki total jarak perpindahan material sebesar 44,9 meter. Tata letak usulan Alternatif 1 mampu menurunkan jarak perpindahan menjadi 22,5 meter dengan efisiensi 49,89%, sedangkan Alternatif 2 menghasilkan jarak perpindahan 19 meter dengan efisiensi 57,68%. Dengan demikian, Alternatif 2 dipilih sebagai tata letak terbaik karena mampu menciptakan aliran material yang lebih efektif, memanfaatkan ruang secara optimal, dan meningkatkan efisiensi operasional workshop.
