Abstract
The growing popularity of figure and plushie collecting has increased the need for display media that not only functions as a storage solution but also provides adequate protection and enhances the visual presentation of collections. Problems found in existing display products include limited space, variations in collection sizes, lack of configuration flexibility, and insufficient protection against dust and dirt. Therefore, this design aims to develop a modular display box that can accommodate various types and sizes of figure and plushie collections while allowing users to adjust the configuration according to their needs. The design process applies a User-Centered Design (UCD) approach through problem identification, observation, data collection and analysis, concept development, design exploration, prototyping, and evaluation. The modular system is implemented through adjustable partitions that can be installed, removed, and reconfigured according to the user's collection. The product uses a 3D-printed PLA structure, a 4 mm transparent acrylic front panel, PVC Board for selected partition components, and Warm White LED lighting to enhance collection visibility. The resulting display box has overall dimensions of approximately 29 × 33.95 × 10.5 cm and can be arranged into several configurations for displaying figure and plushie collections. One configuration is specifically designed to accommodate up to 12 figures, making it suitable for collections belonging to a single series or theme. The design produces a more flexible, organized, and aesthetically pleasing display solution that allows users to adjust the display configuration according to the development of their collection and available space. Keywords: Display Box, Modular, Figure, Plushie, User-Centered Design, Collection Perkembangan budaya koleksi figure dan plushie menyebabkan meningkatnya kebutuhan terhadap media display yang tidak hanya berfungsi sebagai tempat penyimpanan, tetapi juga mampu melindungi dan menampilkan koleksi secara optimal. Permasalahan yang ditemukan pada media display yang tersedia di pasaran meliputi keterbatasan ruang, perbedaan ukuran koleksi, kurangnya fleksibilitas konfigurasi, serta belum optimalnya perlindungan terhadap debu dan kotoran. Oleh karena itu, perancangan ini bertujuan menghasilkan kotak display modular yang mampu mengakomodasi berbagai ukuran dan jenis koleksi figure dan plushie serta dapat disesuaikan dengan kebutuhan pengguna. Metode perancangan menggunakan pendekatan User-Centered Design (UCD) melalui tahapan identifikasi permasalahan, observasi, pengumpulan dan analisis data, pengembangan konsep, eksplorasi alternatif, prototyping, serta evaluasi. Sistem modular diterapkan melalui penggunaan sekat yang dapat dipasang, dilepas, dan dikonfigurasi ulang sesuai kebutuhan koleksi. Produk menggunakan struktur berbasis PLA hasil 3D printing, penutup akrilik transparan 4 mm, PVC Board sebagai komponen sekat tertentu, serta pencahayaan LED Warm White untuk meningkatkan visibilitas koleksi. Hasil perancangan berupa kotak display berukuran sekitar 29 × 33,95 × 10,5 cm yang dapat dikonfigurasi dalam beberapa susunan untuk menampung figure dan plushie. Salah satu konfigurasi secara khusus dapat digunakan untuk menampilkan hingga 12 figure, sehingga sesuai untuk koleksi figure dalam satu seri atau tema. Perancangan ini menghasilkan media display yang lebih fleksibel, terorganisir, dan estetis serta memungkinkan pengguna menyesuaikan konfigurasi display berdasarkan perkembangan koleksi dan kondisi ruang.
