Abstract

Internship programs serve as an important bridge between academic competencies and the demands of the professional workforce; however, the selection process for internship applicants often faces challenges due to the large number of candidates and the diversity of Curriculum Vitae (CV) formats, which makes manual screening inefficient, inconsistent, and potentially subjective. This study aims to implement a CV analysis system based on an Applicant Tracking System (ATS) using text similarity algorithms to support a more effective and measurable initial selection process for internship participants. The research adopts a quantitative descriptive approach through applied research in the form of system implementation, utilizing applicant CV documents in PDF format as the research data. The CVs are processed through text extraction stages using PDF parsing and/or Optical Character Recognition (OCR), followed by text preprocessing and suitability analysis employing TF-IDF, Cosine Similarity, Jaccard Similarity, and Fuzzy Matching algorithms based on Levenshtein Distance. In addition, the system applies a multi-indicator assessment framework, including keyword relevance, CV completeness, supporting document validation, certificate scoring, and a stuffing penalty mechanism to maintain evaluation integrity. The system output consists of suitability scores, candidate recommendation categories (highly recommended, recommended, considered, less suitable, invalid CV, and out of scope), as well as multi-track matching results to determine candidate compatibility with specific internship track. Program magang berperan sebagai penghubung antara kompetensi akademik dan kebutuhan dunia kerja, namun pada pelaksanaannya proses seleksi sering menghadapi permasalahan akibat tingginya jumlah pelamar serta keberagaman format Curriculum Vitae (CV), sehingga penyaringan secara manual menjadi kurang efisien, tidak konsisten, dan berpotensi subjektif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengimplementasikan sistem analisis CV berbasis Applicant Tracking System (ATS) menggunakan algoritma text similarity guna mendukung proses seleksi awal peserta program magang secara lebih efektif dan terukur. Penelitian dilakukan dengan pendekatan kuantitatif deskriptif melalui penelitian terapan berupa implementasi sistem, dengan data berupa dokumen CV pelamar dalam format PDF yang diproses melalui tahapan ekstraksi teks menggunakan PDF parsing dan/atau Optical Character Recognition (OCR), praproses teks, serta analisis kesesuaian menggunakan algoritma TF-IDF, Cosine Similarity, Jaccard Similarity, dan Fuzzy Matching (Levenshtein Distance). Sistem yang dikembangkan juga menerapkan penilaian berbasis multi-indikator yang mencakup relevansi kata kunci (base keyword score), kelengkapan CV (completeness), validasi dokumen, penilaian sertifikat, serta mekanisme stuffing penalty untuk menjaga kualitas dan integritas penilaian. Keluaran sistem berupa skor kesesuaian, rekomendasi kategori kandidat yang meliputi sangat direkomendasikan, direkomendasikan, pertimbangan, kurang sesuai, kemungkinan bukan CV, dan di luar scope, serta hasil multi-track matching untuk menentukan kecocokan pelamar terhadap kebutuhan masing-masing track magang.
