Abstract
The management of community service grant funds at the Institute for Research and Community Service (LPPM) still faces challenges due to data recording practices that rely on separate files stored in different locations. This condition leads to inefficient data processing, increased risk of human error, and potential data inconsistency. This study aims to design a database system for the Community Service Grant Data Center (PDHPM) website that enables integrated and consistent management of grant data. The research focuses on database structure design, management of inter-entity relationships, and the application of normalization techniques to minimize data redundancy. The research method employed is Research and Development (R&D) using the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) with the Waterfall model, which includes the stages of requirements analysis, database design, implementation, and testing. The database system is implemented using the MySQL Database Management System (DBMS) and integrated into the Laravel development environment. The expected outcome of this study is a structured database design capable of managing key entities such as lecturers, grant teams, and activity reports consistently, ensuring data integrity, and supporting the sustainable development of community service grant management systems. Keyword: Database System, Community Service Grants, LPPM, Waterfall, MySQL Pembuatan sistem informasi hibah membutuhkan dasar pengelolaan data yang rapi, aman, dan konsisten agar tidak terjadi pengulangan (redundansi) dan kesalahan informasi. Penelitian ini berpusat pada perancangan, implementasi, dan pengujian struktur basis data relasional sebagai dasar utama pengoperasian sistem. Metode perancangan basis data menggunakan proses normalisasi sampai tahap Third Normal Form (3NF) untuk memastikan penggunaan ruang penyimpanan lebih efisien dan menjaga kecepatan akses data (query performance) tetap seimbang. Pengujian sistem dilakukan dengan fokus pada tahap uji database, yaitu dengan menjalankan perintah query secara langsung melalui sistem manajemen database (DBMS) MySQL. Skenario pengujian mencakup memverifikasi fungsi dasar manipulasi data seperti membuat, membaca, mengedit, dan menghapus (CRUD), serta menguji integritas referensial antar-entitas. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan bahwa desain basis data bisa mengolah semua aliran data transaksi dan data master secara tepat tanpa menyebabkan kesalahan sintaks. Selain itu, penggunaan pembatasan kunci asing (foreign key constraints) dengan aturan berantai (ON DELETE CASCADE) berhasil menghilangkan risiko munculnya data yang tidak memiliki induk secara otomatis. Evaluasi akhir menunjukkan bahwa struktur basis data yang dibuat tidak memiliki masalah data, dan hubungan dalam basis data tersebut sangat kuat.
