Abstract
The development of virtual worlds has created new opportunities for utilizing interactive and immersive information media in campus. The Roblox platform, supported by Roblox Studio, makes the design of three-dimensional virtual campus environments that can be used as information and communication media for higher education institutions. This study aims to d.esign a virtual campus as an interactive information medium by focusing on optimizing user navigation and interaction through the implementation of algorithms in non-player characters (NPCs). The research methodology includes virtual environment and NPC behavior design, as well as system implementation and testing. The Finite State Machine (FSM) algorithm is applied to regulate structured NPC behavior and interactions, while the A-Star (A*) algorithm is utilized to optimize NPC navigation in guiding users to specific locations within the virtual campus environment. The virtual campus design is also intended as a collaborative development model to contribute to the creation of interactive content using the Roblox platform. The expected outcome of this study is a virtual campus prototype that enhances user experience and improves the effectiveness of campus information delivery. Perkembangan dunia virtual membuka peluang baru dalam pemanfaatan media informasi kampus yang interaktif dan imersif. Platform Roblox melalui Roblox Studio membuat perancangan lingkungan kampus virtual tiga dimensi yang dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai sarana informasi dan komunikasi institusi pendidikan tinggi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang dunia virtual kampus sebagai media informasi interaktif dengan fokus pada optimalisasi navigasi dan interaksi pengguna melalui penerapan algoritma pada non-player character (NPC). Metode penelitian meliputi, perancangan lingkungan virtual dan perilaku NPC, serta implementasi dan pengujian sistem. Algoritma Finite State Machine (FSM) digunakan untuk mengatur perilaku dan interaksi NPC secara terstruktur, sedangkan algoritma A-Star (A*) diterapkan untuk mengoptimalkan navigasi NPC dalam mengantarkan pengguna ke lokasi tertentu di lingkungan kampus virtual. Perancangan dunia virtual kampus ini juga diarahkan sebagai model pengembangan kolaboratif dalam pembuatan konten interaktif berbasis platform Roblox. Hasil penelitian diharapkan menghasilkan prototipe dunia virtual kampus yang mampu meningkatkan pengalaman pengguna sekaligus efektivitas penyampaian informasi kampus.
