Abstract
Raw material planning and inventory control play an essential role in maintaining production continuity and minimizing inventory costs. A textile company in Tangerang has experienced discrepancies between the inventory level and the demand for T290M Chip, resulting in both shortages and excess inventory, which increase inventory costs and disrupt the production process. This study aims to determine the most appropriate forecasting method and the optimal lot sizing technique for raw material planning using the Material Requirement Planning (MRP) method. The forecasting methods compared in this study include Single Exponential Smoothing (SES), Double Exponential Smoothing (DES), and Moving Average (MA). The best forecasting method was selected based on the values of MAPE, MAD, MSE, and MFE, and subsequently validated using the Moving Range (MR) control chart. The selected forecasting results were then used to develop the Master Production Schedule (MPS) and perform MRP calculations using the Lot for Lot (LFL), Period Order Quantity (POQ), and Economic Order Quantity (EOQ) techniques. The results indicate that the 3-month Moving Average method is the most accurate forecasting method, as it produced the lowest forecasting error and satisfied the validation criteria based on the Moving Range control chart. Furthermore, the MRP analysis shows that the Economic Order Quantity (EOQ) technique generates the lowest total inventory cost compared with the LFL, POQ, and the company's existing inventory planning method. The total inventory cost using the EOQ method is IDR 16,446,675, whereas the company's current method results in a total inventory cost of IDR 27,000,000. Therefore, implementing the MRP method with the EOQ technique can improve the efficiency of raw material planning while reducing total inventory costs, making it a suitable approach for inventory planning and control at the textile company in Tangerang. Perencanaan dan pengendalian persediaan bahan baku merupakan faktor penting dalam menjaga kelancaran proses produksi serta meminimalkan biaya persediaan. Perusahaan Textile di Tangerang masih mengalami ketidaksesuaian antara jumlah persediaan dan permintaan Chip T290M, yang mengakibatkan terjadinya kekurangan maupun kelebihan persediaan sehingga berdampak pada meningkatnya biaya persediaan dan terganggunya proses produksi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan metode peramalan terbaik serta teknik lot sizing yang paling optimal dalam perencanaan kebutuhan bahan baku menggunakan metode Material Requirement Planning (MRP). Metode peramalan yang dibandingkan meliputi Single Exponential Smoothing (SES), Double Exponential Smoothing (DES), dan Moving Average (MA). Pemilihan metode terbaik dilakukan berdasarkan nilai MAPE, MAD, MSE, dan MFE, kemudian divalidasi menggunakan peta Moving Range (MR). Hasil peramalan terbaik digunakan sebagai dasar penyusunan Jadwal Induk Produksi (JIP) dan perhitungan MRP dengan teknik Lot for Lot (LFL), Period Order Quantity (POQ), dan Economic Order Quantity (EOQ). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa metode Moving Average 3 bulan merupakan metode peramalan terbaik karena menghasilkan tingkat kesalahan paling kecil dan telah memenuhi kriteria validasi berdasarkan peta Moving Range. Berdasarkan hasil perhitungan MRP, teknik Economic Order Quantity (EOQ) menghasilkan total biaya persediaan paling rendah dibandingkan metode LFL, POQ, maupun metode yang diterapkan perusahaan. Total biaya persediaan menggunakan metode EOQ sebesar Rp16.446.675, sedangkan metode perusahaan sebesar Rp27.000.000. Dengan demikian, penerapan metode MRP menggunakan teknik EOQ mampu meningkatkan efisiensi perencanaan kebutuhan bahan baku serta menekan total biaya persediaan, sehingga layak direkomendasikan sebagai metode perencanaan dan pengendalian persediaan pada Perusahaan Textile di Tangerang.
