Abstract
Gangguan pada saluran transmisi tenaga listrik merupakan salah satu penyebab utama menurunnya keandalan sistem tenaga listrik karena dapat mengakibatkan pemadaman dan memperpanjang waktu pemulihan sistem. Oleh karena itu, penentuan lokasi gangguan yang cepat dan akurat menjadi kebutuhan penting dalam operasi sistem transmisi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis penentuan lokasi gangguan pada saluran transmisi listrik wilayah kerja ULTG Serang berbasis impedansi menggunakan metode double-ended unsynchronized serta membandingkan tingkat akurasinya dengan metode single-ended yang digunakan secara eksisting. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kuantitatif dengan melakukan perhitungan ulang lokasi gangguan berdasarkan data tegangan dan arus saat gangguan yang direkam dalam format COMTRADE. Data penelitian diperoleh dari beberapa saluran transmisi, yaitu Jawa7–Balaraja, GMS–Cikande, dan Serang–GMS, dengan jenis gangguan satu fasa ke tanah pada saluran udara. Perhitungan dilakukan menggunakan model impedansi saluran transmisi dan algoritma double-ended unsynchronized tanpa sinkronisasi waktu antar terminal, kemudian hasilnya dibandingkan dengan metode single-ended dan lokasi gangguan aktual hasil inspeksi lapangan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa metode double-ended unsynchronized memberikan estimasi lokasi gangguan yang lebih akurat dibandingkan metode single-ended. Nilai kesalahan metode double-ended berada di bawah 5% pada seluruh kasus yang dianalisis, sedangkan metode single-ended menunjukkan nilai kesalahan yang lebih besar dari 7%, bahkan mencapai lebih dari 23% pada kondisi tertentu. Dengan demikian, metode double-ended unsynchronized terbukti mampu meningkatkan akurasi penentuan lokasi gangguan dan dapat dijadikan sebagai metode alternatif yang lebih andal untuk mendukung kegiatan operasi dan pemeliharaan sistem transmisi tenaga listrik. Faults in electric power transmission lines are one of the main causes of reduced system reliability, as they may lead to outages and prolonged restoration times. Therefore, fast and accurate fault location estimation is essential in transmission system operation. This study aims to analyze impedance-based fault location on transmission lines in the ULTG Serang working area using the double-ended unsynchronized method and to compare its accuracy with the conventional single-ended method. The research employs a quantitative descriptive approach by recalculating fault locations based on voltage and current data recorded during faults in COMTRADE format. The data were obtained from several transmission lines, namely Jawa7–Balaraja, GMS–Cikande, and Serang–GMS, with single line-toground faults on overhead transmission lines. Fault location calculations were performed using transmission line impedance models and a double-ended unsynchronized algorithm that does not require time synchronization between terminals. The calculated results were then compared with the single-ended method and the actual fault locations obtained from field inspections. The results indicate that the double-ended unsynchronized method provides higher accuracy than the single-ended method in all analyzed cases. The percentage error of the double-ended method is consistently below 5%, while the single-ended method shows significantly larger errors than 7% , exceeding 23% in certain cases. These findings demonstrate that the double-ended unsynchronized method is more reliable for fault location estimation and can be considered an effective alternative to improve accuracy and efficiency in transmission system operation and maintenance.
