Abstract
Ban merupakan salah satu komponen penting kendaraan yang berperan dalam keselamatan dan kenyamanan berkendara. Pada proses produksi ban, khususnya tahap building tire, sering terjadi defect Tread Off Center (TOC) Defect TOC sendiri adalah Problem pada ban yang membuat kenyamanan dan keseimbangan pada ban tidak sempurna saat berkendara. Defect tersebut diakibatkan oleh pergeseran pada Rim Bead Forming (RBF) saat assembly ban yang tidak terdeteksi secara dini oleh system. kondisi ini menyebabkan penyatuan green case dan green package tidak presisi, sehingga defect baru teridentifikasi setelah produk memasuki final inspection. Penelitian ini memodifikasi mesin building tire dengan menambahkan system latching interlock lockshaft di mesin DRB-Q1 pada unit Rim Bead Forming dengan berbasis PLC Mitsubishi. System menggunakan sensor proximity induktif untuk mendeteksi pergeseran lockshaft secara real-time, kemudian mengiRimkan sinyal ke PLC yang memproses data dan menampilkan indicator pada HMI serta melakukan partial shutdown pada mesin. Hasil sementara saat pengujian setelah modifikasi dengan penambahan sensor untuk latching interlock tersebut menunjukkan hasil yang positif dan berkontribusi signifikan dalam menurunkan defect, sehingga dapat meningkatkan kualitas produk sekaligus mencegah kerusakan komponen mesin lebih parah. Tires are one of the most important components of a vehicle that play a role in driving safety and comfort. In the tire production process, especially during the tire building stage, Tread Off Center (TOC) defects often occur. TOC defects are problems with tires that make driving comfort and balance imperfect. These defects are caused by shifts in the Rim Bead Forming (RBF) during tire assembly that is not detected early by the system. This condition causes the green case and green package to not be precisely joined, so that the defect is only identified after the product enters the final inspection. This research modifies the tire building machine by adding a latching interlock lockshaft system to the DRB-Q1 machine on the Rim Bead Forming unit based on Mitsubishi PLC. The system uses inductive proximity sensors to detect lockshaft shifts in real-time, then sends signals to the PLC, which rocesses the data and displays indicators on the HMI while performing a partial shutdown of the machine. Preliminary results during testing after the modification with the addition of the sensor for the latching interlock showed positive results and significantly contributed to reducing defects, thereby improving product quality while preventing more severe damage to machine components.
