Abstract
Psychological disorders such as depression, anxiety, and stress are dominant issues that can affect an individual's quality of life and productivity. In Indonesia, mental health issues are a frequent topic of discussion. Therefore, this study aims to determine the relationship between Parental Bonding (Focus on Mothers) and Mental Health among Students at University X. Mental health is an important aspect that is essential for humans to achieve their life goals. The participants in this study consisted of 324 respondents. Accidental sampling was used to select students at University X. Mental health was measured using the Mental Health Continuum-Short Form, while Parental Bonding was measured using the Parental Bonding Instrument. The data were then analyzed using Pearson's correlation. The results showed a value of r = 0.764 and a value of p = 0.001, which means that there is a significant relationship between Parental Bonding and mental health. Based on this study, it can be concluded that there is a strong relationship between Parental Bonding (Focus on Mother) and the mental health of students at University X. This is reinforced by the US National Comorbidity Survey, which found that the dimension of attention, especially from mothers, has a strong correlation with the risk of various mental disorders in adulthood. Keywords: Mental Health, Parental Bonding Gangguan psikologis seperti depresi, kecemasan, stress merupakan isu dominan yang bisa mempengaruhi kualitas hidup individu serta produktivitasnya. Di Indonesia isu kesehatan mental menjadi pembahasan yang sering dibahas. Untuk itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara Parental Bonding (Fokus pada Ibu) dan Kesehatan Mental Mahasiswa di Universitas X. Kesehatan mental merupakan aspek penting yang sangat dibutuhkan manusia untuk mencapai tujuan hidupnya. Partisipan penelitian ini terdiri dari 324 responden. Dengan menggunakan Teknik Accidental Sampling kepada mahasiswa di Universitas X. Kesehatan mental menggunakan alat ukur Mental Helath Continuum-Short Form, Parental Bonding menggunakan alat ukur Parental Bonding Instrument. Kemudian di analisa dengan menggunakan korelasi Pearson. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan nilai r= 0,764 Dan nilai p= 0,001, yang artinya bahwa ada hubungan yang signifikan antara Paretal Bonding dengan kesehatan mental. Berdasarkan penelitian ini, dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat arah hubungan kuat antara Parental Bonding (Fokus pada Ibu) dan kesehatan mental mahasiswa di universitas X. Hal ini diperkuat oleh Studi US National Comorbidity Survey, bahwa pada dimensi perhatian khususnya ibu memiliki korelasi kuat dengan risiko berbagai gangguan mental pada usia dewasa.
