Abstract
Infrastructure monitoring is a critical component in managing Kubernetes clusters to ensure service availability and support system performance analysis, particularly in large-scale environments. This study aims to analyze the performance of VictoriaMetrics as a time-series database in Kubernetes monitoring systems and to compare it with Prometheus based on resource utilization. The research employs a quantitative approach through benchmark experiments under three load scenarios, namely 500, 750, and 1000 target hosts, with each scenario executed three times to obtain consistent data. The analyzed parameters include CPU usage, memory consumption, and storage capacity, where average values are used to represent overall resource utilization trends and standard deviation is applied to measure result stability across experiments. The results indicate differences in resource utilization characteristics between the two systems, with VictoriaMetrics showing more stable resource usage as the load increases. These findings are expected to serve as a reference for organizations in selecting monitoring solutions that align with the scale and requirements of their Kubernetes infrastructure. Monitoring infrastruktur merupakan komponen penting dalam pengelolaan klaster Kubernetes untuk memastikan ketersediaan layanan dan mendukung analisis performa sistem, terutama pada lingkungan berskala besar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis performa VictoriaMetrics sebagai time-series database dalam sistem monitoringKubernetes serta membandingkannya dengan Prometheus berdasarkan pemanfaatan sumber daya. Metode penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif melalui eksperimen benchmark pada tiga skenario beban, yaitu 500, 750, dan 1000 target host, di mana setiap skenario pengujian dilakukan sebanyak tiga kali untuk memperoleh data yang konsisten. Parameter yang dianalisis meliputi penggunaan CPU, memori, dan kapasitas penyimpanan, dengan nilai rata-rata digunakan untuk menggambarkan kecenderungan penggunaan sumber daya dan standar deviasi untuk mengukur kestabilan hasil pengujian. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya perbedaan karakteristik penggunaan sumber daya pada kedua sistem, di mana VictoriaMetrics cenderung menunjukkan penggunaan resource yang lebih stabil seiring peningkatan beban. Temuan ini diharapkan dapat menjadi referensi dalam menentukan solusi monitoring yang sesuai dengan kebutuhan dan skala infrastruktur Kubernetes.
