Abstract
V-DROP CAFE is a café located in Kalideres, West Jakarta, with a unique concept and affordable beverage prices. However, the café faces challenges in managing its beverage raw material inventory, particularly in terms of optimizing ordering and storage costs. This study aims to analyze and compare the Economic Order Quantity (EOQ) and Lot for Lot (LFL) methods in inventory management and determine which method is more optimal in minimizing inventory costs. This research employs a quantitative descriptive approach by analyzing beverage raw material inventory data from the last three months, specifically from October to December 2023. The data used consists of primary data obtained through interviews and secondary data from V-DROP CAFE’s inventory records. The analysis is conducted by applying the EOQ and LFL methods to calculate total inventory costs, which include ordering and storage costs. The results indicate that the EOQ method is more efficient than the LFL method in managing beverage raw material inventory at V-DROP CAFE. The total inventory cost using EOQ is lower because this method optimizes order quantity and reduces order frequency. In contrast, the LFL method incurs higher costs due to more frequent ordering. Therefore, the EOQ method is recommended to improve inventory management efficiency at V-DROP CAFE. Keywords: Economic Order Quantity (EOQ), Lot for Lot (LFL), Inventory Management, Inventory Costs. V-DROP CAFE merupakan kafe yang berlokasi di Kalideres, Jakarta Barat, dengan konsep unik dan harga minuman yang terjangkau. Namun, kafe ini menghadapi tantangan dalam pengelolaan persediaan bahan baku minuman, terutama terkait efisiensi biaya pemesanan dan penyimpanan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis dan membandingkan metode Economic Order Quantity (EOQ) dan Lot for Lot (LFL) dalam pengelolaan persediaan bahan baku, serta menentukan metode yang lebih optimal dalam menekan biaya persediaan. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kuantitatif dengan menganalisis data persediaan bahan baku minuman selama tiga bulan terakhir, yaitu Oktober hingga Desember 2023. Data yang digunakan merupakan data primer yang diperoleh melalui wawancara serta data sekunder dari catatan persediaan V-DROP CAFE. Analisis dilakukan dengan menerapkan metode EOQ dan LFL untuk menghitung total biaya persediaan, yang terdiri dari biaya pemesanan dan biaya penyimpanan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa metode EOQ lebih efisien dibandingkan LFL dalam mengelola persediaan bahan baku minuman di V-DROP CAFE. Total biaya persediaan dengan EOQ lebih rendah karena metode ini mengoptimalkan jumlah pemesanan dan menekan frekuensi pemesanan. Sebaliknya, metode LFL menghasilkan biaya yang lebih tinggi akibat frekuensi pemesanan yang lebih sering. Dengan demikian, penerapan metode EOQ lebih direkomendasikan untuk meningkatkan efisiensi pengelolaan persediaan di VDROP CAFE.
