Abstract

The global energy crisis caused by fossil fuel dependence highlights the urgent need for sustainable transportation solutions. Electric motorcycles present a viable alternative, particularly in urban areas with high pollution levels. This study aims to analyze the influence of environmental concern and perceived usefulness on the intention of female Gen Z consumers in Indonesia to adopt Selis electric motorcycles, with attitude toward electric motorcycles serving as a mediating variable. The population of this research consists of female Gen Z consumers in Indonesia. Using a purposive sampling technique, data were collected through a structured online questionnaire. The total sample consisted of respondents who met the criteria of being female, belonging to Gen Z, and having knowledge of Selis electric motorcycles. The data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with SmartPLS software. The findings show that environmental concern and perceived usefulness both have a significant positive effect on intention to use. Furthermore, both variables also positively influence attitudes, which in turn significantly affect intention. Attitude is also found to mediate the relationship between environmental concern and perceived usefulness with intention. These results suggest that both ecological values and functional benefits are crucial in shaping adoption, while attitude strengthens this effect. The study concludes that effective marketing strategies should highlight both sustainability and practicality to encourage wider adoption of electric motorcycles among female Gen Z consumers.
