Abstract

The more advanced the State, the more industrial vehicles are produced to meet human needs for the many requests for transformations used by industrial plants. So Inspection of the structure of metal materials such as steel in vehicles such as trucks is very important to know the material conditions and take preventive measures before the failure of the equipment when it is used. Steel can be damaged, and often only in the form of small / fine cracks. Crack detection in the rear axle shaft is an important activity to ensure the feasibility and safety of the structure on the axle shaft. Metal Crack Detector is a tool that can be used to determine cracks in various types of metals and structures that are formed. This study aims to minimize the risk of failure of metal structures, especially the rear axle shaft by using a Metal Crack Detector. The detection results must be valid and can be accounted for in a mathematical calculation, if needed. The risk of loss caused by a component failure function rear axle shaft can be minimized using a metal crack detector. Analysis of the results of the comparison of detection using a metal crack detector based on Arduino Uno and ultrasonic crack detector has a ratio of the percentage of cracks that is equal to 5% with metal crack detector by 10% indication of cracking and ultrasonic crack detector by 5% indication of cracking. The level of accuracy of metal crack detectors in detecting metal cracks indicates that the tool works quite accurately because the results are not much different from the devices that are already on the market. Kata kunci:Rear axle shaft, metal crack detector, ultrasonik crack detector, keretakan logam Semakin maju Negara semakin banyak kendaraan-kendaraan industri yang diproduksi untuk memenuhi kebutuhan manusia akan banyaknya permintaan untuk tranformasi yang digunakan oleh pabrik – pabrik industri. Jadi Inspeksi terhadap struktur material logam seperti baja pada kendaraan seperti truk sangat penting untuk mengetahui kondisi material dan melakukan tindakan preventif sebelum terjadinya kegagalan fungsi peralatan pada saat digunakan. Baja dapat mengalami kerusakan, dan seringkali hanya berupa retak kecil/halus. Deteksi keretakan pada rear axle shaft merupakan kegiatan yang penting untuk memastikan kelayakan dan keselamatan struktur pada axle shaft tersebut. Metal Crack Detector adalah alat yang dapat digunakan untuk mengetahui keretakan pada berbagai jenis logam dan struktur yang dibentuknya. Penelitian ini bertujuan meminimalisir risiko kegagalan struktur logam, khususnya rear axle shaft dengan menggunakan Metal Crack Detector. Hasil pendeteksian tersebut harus valid dan dapat dipertanngungjawabkan secara perhitungan matematis, apabila diperlukan. Risiko kerugian yang diakibatkan oleh kegagalan fungsi komponen rear axle shaft dapat diminimalisir menggunakan metal crack detector. Analisa hasil perbandingan pendeteksian menggunakan metal crack detector berbasis arduino uno dan ultrasonik crack detector memiliki perbandingan persentase keretakan yaitu sebesar 5% dengan metal crack detector sebesar 10% indikasi keretakan dan ultrasonic crack detector sebesar 5% indikasi keretakan. Tingkat keaakurasian metal crack detector dalam mendeteksi keretakan logam menunjukkan bahwa alat tersebut bekerja cukup akurat karena hasilnya tidak berbeda jauh dengan alat yang sudah beredar di pasaran.
