Abstract

This study was conducted with the aim to know the image of cognitive dissonance in gay who establish marriage with women. The method used in this study is a Qualitative method through interviews and observations. The subjects taken in this study are those who have divorced and who are still married with women with age range 20-40 years. The results of this study indicate that both subjects have different problems to cover their true identity as gay. The effects of cognitive dissonance behavior such as interaction with the environment, maintaining behavior in society, and not open to sexual identity aberrations. This study illustrates cognitive dissonance in gays that intermarry with women. Keywords: Gay, Marriage, Cognitive Dissonance Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui gambaran disonansi kognitif pada gay yang menjalin pernikahan dengan wanita. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode Kualitatif melalui wawancara dan observasi. Subjek yang diambil dalam penelitian ini adalah yang sudah bercerai dan yang masih menjalin pernikahan dengan wanita dengan rentang usia 20-40 tahun. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa kedua subjek memiliki masalah yang berbeda untuk menutupi jati dirinya sebagai gay. Pengaruh dari perilaku disonansi kognitif seperti interaksi dengan lingkungan, menjaga tingkah laku di masyarakat, dan tidak terbuka terhadap penyimpangan identitas seksual. Penelitian ini menggambarkan disonansi kognitif pada gay yang menjalin pernikahan dengan wanita. Kata Kunci: Gay, Pernikahan, Disonansi Kognitif
