Abstract

This study aims to find out how effective Whatsapp social media as News GTV interaction media. GTV News is the object of his research because based on the rundown of daily news work, the distance between one program to the next program is very short and in practice GTV news employees always discuss the process of work through whatsapp devices. Jan Kietzmann & Kristopher Hermkens stated that the function of social media can be explained using the Honeycomb framework which describes social media by using the seven pillars of self-introduction, conversation, sharing, presence, relationships, reputation, and groups. The seven pillars of social media functions are the dimensions of the whatsapp effectiveness variable. This research method is Descriptive Statistics with the translation of data through graphs and data tables. The population of this study were all News GTV employees from several divisions, amounting to 56 employees. Based on this population the authors take all of them into research samples. Data collection techniques using questionnaires with one whatsapp effectiveness variable and seven dimensions based on Jan Kietzmann & Kristopher Hermkens's social media function theory. Furthermore, the overall data is measured by an average score then the average score seen by the effectiveness level with a Likert scale. Based on the overall average score of 3.47, it can be concluded that the Effectiveness of Whatsapp Social Media as News Media Interaction for GTV is effective. From the overall data of each dimension, the conversation becomes the dimension with the highest value, which is 3.63. Keywords: Social Media, WhatsApp, News GTV Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui seberapa efektif media sosial Whatsapp sebagai media interaksi News GTV. News GTV menjadi Objek penelitiannya karena berdasarkan rundown pengerjaan berita harian, jarak antar program satu ke program selanjutnya sangatlah singkat serta pada prakteknya karyawan news GTV selalu mendiskusikan proses pengerjaannya melalui gawai whatsapp. Jan Kietzmann & Kristopher Hermkens menyatakan bahwa fungsi media sosial dapat dijelaskan dengan menggunakan kerangka Honeycomb yang menggambarkan media sosial dengan menggunakan tujuh pilar yaitu Perkenalan diri, percakapan, berbagi, kehadiran, hubungan, reputasi, dan kelompok. Ketujuh pilar fungsi media sosial tersebut menjadi dimensi pada variabel efektivitas whatsapp. Metode penelitian ini yaitu Deskriptif Statistika dengan penjabaran data melalui grafik dan tabel data. Populasi dari penelitian ini adalah seluruh karyawan News GTV dari beberapa divisi yang berjumlah 56 karyawan. Berdasarkan populasi tersebut penulis mengambil seluruhnya menjadi sample penelitian. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan kuisioner dengan satu variabel efektivitas whatsapp dan tujuh dimensi berdasarkan teori fungsi media sosial Jan Kietzmann & Kristopher Hermkens. Selanjutnya keseluruhan data diukur skor rata-rata kemudian nilai skor rata-rata dilihat tingkat efektivitasnya dengan skala likert. Berdasarkan skor rata-rata keseluruhan yaitu 3.47 dapat disimpulkan bahwa Efektivitas Media Sosial Whatsapp Sebagai Media Interaksi News GTV efektif. Dari keseluruhan data tiap-tiap dimensi maka percakapan menjadi dimensi dengan nilai tertinggi yaitu 3.63. Kata Kunci: Media Sosial, WhatsApp, News GTV
