Abstract

In current network communications both for multimedia applications and functionality services require reliable network connectivity. Therefore, it is necessary for a computer network that is always standby when a link failure occurs that can be achieved by implementing etherchannel for network redundancy. Etherchannel LACP (Link Aggregation Control Protocol) and PAGP (Port Aggregation Protocol) are part of the IEEE 802.3ad specification that allows users to combine multiple shared physical portals into a single logical channel. LACP allows switches to negotiate automatically for merging by sending LACP packets to peers. This is a function similar to Port Aggregation Protocol (PAgP) with Cisco Etherchannel that helps in automated creation of EtherChannel links. In this final project implementation and analysis by testing the work of load-balancing etherchannel and analysis of QoS measured Delay, Recovery Time, Throughput, and Packet Loss. Keywords: computer network, etherchannel, LACP, PAGP, QoS, load-balancing Pada komunikasi jaringan saat ini baik untuk aplikasi multimedia maupun layanan fungsionalitas memerlukan konektivitas jaringan yang dapat diandalkan. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan jaringan komputer yang selalu standby ketika terjadi gagal link yaitu dapat dicapai dengan implementasi etherchannel untuk redundansi jaringan. Etherchannel LACP (Link Aggregation Control Protocol) dan PAGP (Port Aggregation Protocol) merupakan bagian dari spesifikasi IEEE 802.3ad yang mengijinkan pengguna untuk menggabungkan beberapa port fisikal bersama menjadi sebuah channel logikal tunggal. LACP mengijinkan switch untuk bernegosiasi secara otomatis untuk penggabungannya dengan mengirimkan paket LACP kepada peernya. Hal ini merupakan fungsi yang sama dengan Port Aggregation Protocol (PAgP) dengan Etherchannel Cisco yang membantu pada pembuatan otomatis dari link Etherchannel. Pada tugas akhir ini dilakukan implementasi dan analisa dengan pengujian cara kerja load-balancing etherchannel serta analisa QoS yang diukur Delay, Recovery Time, Throughput, dan Packet Loss.
