Abstract

This study was conducted to determine whether there is an influence of cyberbullying on the tendency of depression in generation Z at University X. The approach taken in this study were 134 respondents who had social media and who were studying at University X. With Snowball Sampling as a sampling technique. Cyberbullying is measured using a scale consisting of 18 items and for depression tendencies measured using a scale consisting of 21 items. This study was analyzed using univariate and bivariate to determine the effect of cyberbullying on depressive tendencies. Results from studies that have been carried out using the Chi Square test for Cyberbullying Variables and Depression Tendency obtained Pearson chi square value of 37,774 and p = 0.000 <0.05 of these results H0 is rejected with a simple regression of 30.3%. The conclusion which means there is an influence cyberbullying on the tendency of depression. Keywords : Cyberbullying, Depression Tendency, Generation Z Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui apakah ada pengaruh cyberbullying terhadap kecenderungan depresi pada generasi Z di Universitas X. Pendekatan yang dilakukan dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 134 responden yang memiliki media sosial dan yang sedang menempuh pendidikan di Universitas X. Dengan Snowball Sampling sebagai teknik pengambilan sampel. Cyberbullying diukur menggunakan skala yang terdiri dari 18 item dan untuk kecenderungan depresi diukur menggunakan skala yang terdiri dari 21 item. Penelitian ini dianalisa menggunakan univariat dan bivariat untuk mengetahui pengaruh cyberbullying terhadap kecenderungan depresi. Hasil dari penelitian yang telah dilakukan menggunakan uji Chi Square untuk Variabel Cyberbullying dan Kecenderungan Depresi didapat nilai pearson chi square 37,774 dan nilai p=0,000<0,05 dari hasil tersebut H0 ditolak dengan regresi sederhana sebesar 30,3%. Kesimpulannya yang berarti ada pengaruh cyberbullying terhadap kecenderungan depresi. Kata kunci : Cyberbullying, Kecenderungan Depresi, Generasi Z
