Abstract

In an attempt to face the global competition in the industrialized world for manufacturing sector, PT. HI-LEX INDONESIA was working to implement Automation System on the production process for the forging of the screw component that is still processed by manual and relies on scope of human capability. In addition to the global problem, the production process has the potential to wreck fingers pinched by work roll die because the production process is highly dependent on prudence and concentration of workers when the production process takes place. Outline the intended Automation System is by means replacing the role of manpower (manually) with the machine (automatic) because people have limited the scope of the motion. Because of the limited scope of human time and less than optimal production processes less effective so that productivity tends to be not achieved. On the other hand data from the Central Bureau of statistics of the Ministry of Employment showed the existence of a percentage of the minimum labour wage increases each year. To overcome these problems then designed and made an additional machine in the form of Automatic machine Component Feeder Automation System on Rolling Thread machine production process, with the aim of can increase productivity, percentage streamline and optimize the time of existing production processes, as well as conducting cost reduction wage labor replaced with additional machine. To realize the Automation System is a machine with the need for a methodology includes pra process design, design process, process of construction and the process of experimentation or testing. After the machine Automatic Component Feeder manufacture and tested the machine can increase the productivity of 21.24% raw time and optimize the production process becomes 21.32 hour/day which was previously with the manual process of 16.86 hour/day. In addition the existence of Automatic Component machine Feeder on the Thread Rolling machine can reduce the use of the role of humans as much as 3 people/the machine so that the company's expenses amounting to reduce 14.29% based on the amount of the wages of the operator the division operates on a rolling i.e. 21 people. Keywords : Design, Productivity, Production Process and Automation System Dalam upaya menghadapi persaingan global pada dunia industri untuk sektor manufaktur, PT. HI-LEX INDONESIA sedang berupaya menerapkan Sistem Otomasi pada proses produksi pembentukan komponen ulir yang masih diproses dengan cara manual dan bergantung pada ruang lingkup kemampuan manusia. Selain permasalahan global, proses produksi tersebut memiliki potensi kecelakaan kerja jari tangan terjepit oleh roll die karena proses produksi ini sangat bergantung pada kehatihatian dan konsentrasi pekerja saat proses produksi tersebut berlangsung. Secara garis besar Sistem Otomasi yang dimaksud adalah dengan cara menggantikan peranan tenaga manusia (manually) dengan tenaga mesin (automatic) karena manusia memiliki ruang lingkup gerak yang terbatas. Karena ruang lingkup manusia yang terbatas, waktu proses produksi kurang optimal dan kurang efektif sehingga productivity cenderung tidak tercapai. Di sisi lain data dari Badan Pusat Statistik Kementrian Ketenagakerjaan menunjukan adanya presentase kenaikan upah minimum buruh setiap tahunnya. Untuk mengatasi permasalahan tersebut maka dirancang dan dibuatlah mesin tambahan berupa mesin Automatic Component Feeder yang menggunakan Sistem Otomasi pada mesin proses produksi Thread Rolling, dengan tujuan dapat meningkatkan presentase produktivitas, mengefektifkan dan mengoptimalkan waktu proses produksi yang ada, serta melakukan cost reduction upah buruh yang digantikan dengan mesin tambahan tersebut. Untuk mewujudkan sebuah mesin dengan Sistem Otomasi diperlukannya suatu metodologi meliputi proses pra perancangan, proses perancangan, proses kontruksi dan proses eksperimen atau uji coba. Setelah mesin Automatic Component Feeder dibuat dan diuji coba mesin tersebut dapat meningkatkan productivity sebesar 21.24% dan mengoptimalkan waktu baku proses produksi menjadi 21.32 hour/day yang sebelumnya dengan proses manual sebesar 16.86 hour/day. Selain itu dengan adanya mesin Automatic Component Feeder pada mesin Thread Rolling dapat mengurangi penggunaan peran manusia sebanyak 3 orang/mesin sehingga mereduce biaya pengeluaran perusahaan sebesar 14.29% berdasarkan jumlah upah operator yang beroperasi pada Divisi Rolling yaitu 21 orang.
