Abstract

This research aims to analyze the relationship between self esteem with the lifestyles of hedonism on the adolescents students who using Instagram at Mercu Buana University Jakarta. The research approach is quantitative. The sample of research is 180 students of 2014 Mercu buana Jakarta and using Instagram. The sampling methode is purposive sampling. The data obtained were processed by using the Rank Spearman Correlation with the help of SPSS version 20. The results obtained Ha accepted hypothesis,with coefficient of correlation (r) of -2.81 level significance of 0.000 (p < 0.05). Results of the study indicate that there is a negative relationship between self esteem with the lifestyles of hedonism on the on the adolescents students who using Instagram at Mercu Buana University Jakarta. This means that if self esteem is higher then hedonism lifestyle is low and if self esteem low lifestlye hedonism is high. Keywords : Self Esteem, Lifestyle of Hedonism Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis hubungan antara self esteem dengan gaya hidup hedonisme pada mahasiswa remaja akhir yang menggunakan Instagram di Universitas Mercu Buana Jakarta. Pendekatan penelitian adalah pendekatan kuantitatif. Sampel penelitian adalah 180 orang Mahasiswa angkatan 2014 Mercu buana Jakarta dan menggunakan Instagram. Metode pengambilan sampel yang dipakai adalah purposive sampling. Data yang diperoleh diolah dengan menggunakan korelasi Rank Spearman dengan bantuan SPSS versi 20, diperoleh hasil hipotesis Ha diterima, dengan koefisien korelasi (r) sebesar -2,81 dengan taraf signifikansi sebesar 0,000 (p < 0,05). Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa terdapat hubungan negatif antara self esteem dengan gaya hidup hedonisme pada mahasiswa remaja akhir pengguna instagram di Universitas Mercu Buana Jakarta. Artinya, jika self esteem tinggi maka gaya hidup hedonisme rendah dan jika self esteem rendah gaya hidup hedonisme tinggi. Kata kunci: Self Esteem, Gaya Hidup Hedonisme
