Abstract

Character education is one of the most important things for children in Indonesia. Until now, there are still many parents who do not care about the education of their children. Although the government has provided sufficient facilities for children to get education, there are still people who do not heed it. In addition to the low level of awareness of education, most people in Indonesia also lack the moral and ethical education to the generation of this nation. The author devised a learning media video of good and bad character traits aimed at students of the Third Class SDLB Deaf Deaf in Santi Rama. In the learning video of the nature of this human character, the author makes a product or props that have been made in the form of fan design good and bad emoticon photo design. The product is used for deaf younger siblings who will learn about the nature of good and bad human characters in the classroom so that younger siblings can understand the nature of human character. The concept of designing in this video is how the deaf SDLB students can see the good and bad character traits that will be displayed through this video. Because in that school the difficulty of teaching deaf students through the teachers with sign language so that the students do not understand what is said by the teachers then author took the initiative to make the video design of learning media character traits good and bad with the idea of displaying visual symbols emoticons and sign language so that students better understand because by displaying visual symbols and emoticons with the composition of layout and other graphical elements. Keywords: Video learning, human character, props Pendidikan karakter merupakan salah satu hal yang sangat penting untuk anak-anak di Indonesia. Sampai sekarang, masih banyak orang tua yang tidak mempedulikan pendidikan anak-anaknya. Walaupun pemerintah telah memberikan fasilitas yang cukup untuk anak mendapatkan pendidikan, tetap saja ada yang tidak mengindahkannya. Selain karena tingkat kesadaran terhadap pendidikan yang masih rendah, sebagian besar orang di Indonesia juga kurang memberikan pendidikan moral dan etika terhadap generasi bangsa ini. Penulis merancang sebuah video media pembelajaran sifat karakter baik dan buruk ditujukan untuk siswa tunarungu kelas III SDLB Tunarungu di Santi Rama. Dalam video pembelajaran sifat karakter manusia ini, penulis membuat suatu produk atau alat peraga yang sudah di buat dalam bentuk kipas yang desainnya foto emoticon baik dan buruk. Produk tersebut digunakan untuk adikadik tunarungu yang akan belajar mengenai sifat karakter manusia baik dan buruk di kelas sehingga adik-adik bisa memahami sifat karakter manusia. Konsep perancangan dalam video ini adalah bagaimana siswa SDLB tunarungu bisa melihat sifat karakter baik dan buruk yang akan ditampilkan lewat video ini. Sebab di sekolah tersebut kesulitan mengajar siswa tunarungu lewat guru-guru dengan bahasa isyarat sehingga siswa tersebut kurang mengerti apa yang di ucapkan oleh guru-guru tersebut maka dari itu penulis berinisiatif membuat perancangan video media pembelajaran sifat karakter baik dan buruk dengan ide gagasan menampilkan simbol visual emoticon dan bahasa isyarat agar siswa tersebut lebih mengerti karena dengan menampilkan visual simbol dan emoticon dengan komposisi layout dan elemen grafis lainnya.
