Abstract

In this final project, the design and implementation of GPON (Gigabit Capable Passive Optical Network) network using aerial fiber optic cable in the Simple House Rw.01, Talaga Bestari. This network is implemented with a star topology. Aerial fiber optic cable installation is carried out using poles as fiber optic cable propagation which makes it very easy to reach dense housing. The design process is assisted by Google Earth software as a reference for making image layouts and material calculations by observing the area. Link budget calculation when designing with maximum attenuation on the network of 26 dB and for real measurements in the field using OTDR (Optical Time Domain Reflectometer) From the survey results and calculations when planning the total attenuation obtained is -24.07 dB, and the attenuation of internet speed testing results on the network is 912 Mbps for download and 951 Mbps for upload, as well as for final results measurement after implementation in the field using OTDR . Pada tugas akhir ini dibuat perancangan dan implementasi jaringan GPON (Gigabit Capable Passive Optical Network) menggunakan kabel serat optik aerial pada Rumah Sederhana Rw.01, Talaga Bestari.Jaringan ini diimplementasikan dengan topologi star. Instalasi kabel serat optik aerial dilakukan dengan menggunakan tiang sebagai perambatan kabel serat optik yang sangat memudahkan untuk menjangkau perumahan yang padat. Proses perancangan dibantu dengan perangkat lunak Google Earth sebagai acuan pembuatan layout gambar serta perhitungan material dengan dilakukan observasi ke area tersebut. Perhitungan link budget pada saat perancangan dengan maksimal redaman pada jaringan sebesar 26 dB dan untuk pengukuran real di lapangan dengan menggunakan OTDR (Optical Time Domain Reflectometer) Dari hasil survey dan perhitungan pada saat perencanaan total redaman yang didapat ialah -24,07 dB, dan redaman hasil pengujian kecepatan internet pada jaringan tersebut ialah 912 Mbps untuk download dan 951 Mbps untuk upload , serta untuk pengukuran hasil akhir setelah implementasi di lapangan menggunakan OTDR.
