Abstract

This research was conducted to find the correlation between self-compassion and resilience among female single parents. The participants of this research are 90 female single parents of early adult and middle-aged adults in the age range of 20-60 years. Measurements of self-compassion using the Self-Compassion Scale (Neff, 2003) and resilience measurements using CD-RISC-25INDO measuring instruments (Connor & Davidson, 2003). The results of this research showed a significant positive correlation between self-compassion and resilience among female single parents (r = 0.495; p = 0.000, significant in L.o.S 0.01). That is, the higher the self-compassion, the higher the resilience of female single parents. Keywords: Self-compassion, Resiliency, female single parents Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk melihat hubungan antara belas kasih diri (selfcompassion) dan resiliensi pada orang tua tunggal (wanita). Partisipan penelitian adalah 90 orang tua tunggal wanita dewasa awal dan dewasa madya pada rentang usia 20-60 tahun. Pengukuran belas kasih diri (self-compassion) menggunakan alat ukur Self-Compassion Scale (Neff, 2003) dan pengukuran resiliensi menggunakan alat ukur CD-RISC-25INDO (Connor & Davidson, 2003). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat hubungan positif yang signifikan antara belas kasih diri (self-compassion) dan resiliensi pada orang tua tunggal wanita (r = 0.495; p = 0.000, signifikan pada L.o.S 0.01). Artinya, semakin tinggi belas kasih diri (self-compassion) maka semakin tinggi pula resiliensi pada orang tua tunggal wanita.
