Abstract
Solo Traveler menjadi suatu trend yang berkembang dengan sangat pesat saat ini mayoritas pelakunya berasal dari generasi milenial. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi motivasi generasi milenial dalam melakukan solo traveling. Desain penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif dengan wawancara bertahap terhadap 5 orang solo traveler sebagai metode pengumpulan data. Informan diperoleh dengan menggunakan prosedur Exponential Discriminative Snowball. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa terdapat 9 hal yang yang menjadi motivasi generasi milenial memutuskan untuk solo traveling, yaitu, Tidak Perlu Toleransi, Bebas Menentukan Pilihan Saat Berwisata, Interaksi Sosial, Pengalaman, Pembuktian serta Menantang Diri Sendiri, Pengembangan Diri, Murah, Perjalanan Wisata yang Tidak Direncanakan, dan Tidak Adanya Teman yang Dapat Diajak Berwisata Pada Satu Waktu Tertentu. Kata Kunci: Solo Traveler, Motivasi Traveler, Generasi Milenial, Solo Traveling, 9 Faktor Solo Traveling Solo Traveler has become a trend that is growing very rapid that the majority of the perpetrators are from millennial generation. This study focuses on identifying the motivation of millennials to do solo traveling. The design of this research is descriptive-qualitative using in-depth interview with 5 solo travelers as methods of data collection. The informant obtained by using Exponential Discriminative Snowball procedure. This study show that there are 9 things that become millennials motivation to do solo traveling, which is, Don’t Need to Tolerance, Free to make choice when traveling, Social Interaction, Experience, Prove and Self-Challenging, Self-development, Cheap, Unplanned tour, and There are no friends who can be invited to travel at a certain time.
