Abstract

The use of energy, especially electrical energy, is needed by the wider community, especially in rural areas where electricity is difficult to reach. Wind is a renewable alternative energy that can be utilized by both the Horizontal Axis Wind Turbine and the Vertical Axis Wind Turbine, which are environmentally friendly machines. In this study, the authors design and design a three-blade Vertical Axis Wind Turbine (VAWT) of the Triangel or triangular type using the VDI (Verein Deutsche Kerenieuer) 2222 method as a turbine for power generation. The results of the wind turbine design are obtained with turbine height dimensions (H) 100 cm, diameter (D) 60 cm; after testing at the port of Muara Angke at the highest wind speed of 4.6 m/s it produces a turbine power (Pt) of 12.5 Watts and to produce 900 watts it takes 72 seconds.. Penggunaan energi terutama energi listrik sangat diperlukan oleh masyarakat luas, terutama perdesaan yang susah di jangkau listrik. Angin adalah salah satu energi alternatif terbarukan yang dapat dimanfaatkan baik oleh Turbin Angin Sumbu Horizontal maupun Turbin Angin Sumbu Vertikal yang merupakan mesin ramah lingkungan. Pada penelitian ini, penulis mendesain dan merancang Turbin Angin Sumbu Vertikal (VAWT) tiga bilah tipe Triangel atau segitiga menggunakan metoda VDI (Verein Deutsche Inginieuer) 2222 sebagai turbin pembangkit listrik. Hasil perancangan turbin angin didapat dengan dimensi tinggi turbin (H) 100 cm, diameter (D) 60 cm; setelah dilakukan pengujian di pelabuhan Muara Angke pada kecepatan angin tertinggi 4,6 m/s menghasilkan daya turbin (Pt) 12,5 Watts dan untuk menghasilkan 900 watts membutuhkan 72 detik.
