Abstract

Voltage stability is one factor that needs to be considered in the planning and operation of electric power systems. The phenomenon of voltage drop must be avoided and these events can be caused by several conditions such as high loading, contingency, or other disturbances. To overcome the problem of drop voltage in the distribution of electric power with the simulation Optimal Capacitor Placement is applied to improve the performance of the electric power system. Optimal capacitor placement simulation can improve the system voltage level by adding capacitors to buses that have voltage drop automatically. This means that it will calculate the capacity of the capacitors and how many minimal capacitor banks are able to improve the system so that we do not have to calculate it manually. From the simulation results of Optimal Capacitor Placement on buses that have decreased voltage, 4 capacitors are obtained at peak load times (WBP) with the best rating to increase the voltage on the system, namely Bus Gandul 1 with a rating of 40 Mvar, Bus Gandul 2 with a rating of 45 Mvar, Lengkong Bus 1 with a rating of 55 Mvar, and Lengkong Bus 2 with a rating of 10 Mvar. Then outside the peak load time (LWBP) 4 capacitors are obtained namely Bus Gandul 1 with a rating of 105 Mvar, Bus Gandul 2 with a rating of 105 Mvar, Bus Lengkong 1 with a rating of 75 Mvar, and Bus Lengkong 2 with a rating of 45 Mvar. Stabilitas tegangan menjadi salah satu faktor yang perlu dipertimbangkan dalam perencanaan dan operasi sistem tenaga listrik. Fenomena tegangan jatuh harus dihindari dan kejadian tersebut dapat disebabkan oleh beberapa kondisi seperti pembebanan yang tinggi, kontingensi, atau gangguan yang lain. Untuk mengatasi permasalahan jatuh tegangan dalam penyaluran tenaga listrik dengan simulasi Optimal Capacitor Placement diaplikasikkan untuk memperbaiki kinerja (performance) sistem tenaga listrik. Simulasi optimal capacitor placement dapat memperbaiki level tegangan sistem dengan menambah kapasitor pada bus yang mengalami drop voltage secara otomatis. Artinya etap akan menghitungkan berapa kapasitas kapasitornya dan berapa jumalah bank kapasitor minimal yang mampu memperbaiki sistem sehingga kita tidak usah menghitung secara manual. Dari hasil simulasi Optimal Capacitor Placement pada bus yang mengalami penurunan tegangan didapatkan 4 buah kapasitor pada waktu beban puncak (WBP) dengan rating yang paling baik untuk meningkatkan tegangan pada sistem yaitu Bus Gandul 1 dengan rating 40 Mvar, Bus Gandul 2 dengan rating 45 Mvar, Bus Lengkong 1 dengan rating 55 Mvar, dan Bus Lengkong 2 dengan rating 10 Mvar. Kemudian pada luar waktu beban puncak (LWBP) didapatkan 4 buah capacitor yaitu Bus Gandul 1 dengan rating 105 Mvar, Bus Gandul 2 dengan rating 105 Mvar, Bus Lengkong 1 dengan rating 75 Mvar, dan Bus Lengkong 2 dengan rating 45 Mvar.
