Abstract

This study aims to determine differences in Smartphone Addiction between male and female students of regular class 2 at Mercu Buana Barat University. Subjects in this study were 59 respondents. This research uses accidental sampling and smartphone addiction scale adopted from Kwon, dkk(2013).The data analysis used is the Independent Sample Test technique, which shows the results of Sig. Equal Variances with a significant value of 0.585> 0.05. With these results it can be concluded that Ha rejected Ho accepted, there was no significant difference in between male and female students in regular class 2 at Mercu Buana University. Keywords: Smartphone Addiction, Male and female students Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan kecanduan Smartphone antara mahasiswa laki-laki dan perempuan kelas reguler 2 Universitas Mercu Buana Barat. Subjek dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 59 responden. Penelitian ini menggunakan accidental sampling dan skala kecanduan smartphone diadopsi dari Kwon, dkk (2013). Adapun analisis data yang digunakan adalah teknik Independent Sample Test, yang menunjukkan hasil Sig. Equal Variances dengan nilai signifikan 0,585 > 0,05. Dengan hasil ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa Ha ditolak Ho diterima, yaitu tidak ada perbedaan yang signifikan antara mahasiswa laki-laki dan perempuan di kelas reguler 2 Universitas Mercu Buana.
