Abstract

The purpose of this study is to look at tough personality or called Hardiness. for Young Teachers who take part in the Indonesia Teaching program. Tough personality was first put forward by Kobasa (1979) as a cognitive assessment process consisting of three characteristics. Commitment, Control and Challenge. There are three subjects in this study. Each research subject is placed in a different area so that each research subject has Hardiness and the factors that influence it when participating in the Indonesia Teaching program. The subject of IM, AO, MS they are interested in doing the learning process activities using methods related to the environment and nature. This is the commitment of each research subject in participating in the Indonesia Teaching program. In addition, support from host families, and related information in the teaching process can help the subject to emerge a formidable personality. Maintaining good relations with students is the subject's way to develop a resilient personality. This research uses a qualitative method with a phenomenological design. Obtained through in-depth interviews and previously given informed consent of participants. The results showed the subject had all the Hardiness personality traits so that the subject was able to overcome obstacles in the teaching process. The subject was very happy, happy and grateful to be selected as a Young Teacher in the Indonesia Teaching program and directly involved in teaching with the condition of each school with minimal facilities. Keyword: Hardiness, Indonesia Mengajar Movement Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk melihat kepribadian tangguh atau disebut Hardiness. pada Pengajar Muda yang mengikuti program Indonesia Mengajar. Kepribadian tangguh pertama dikemukakan oleh Kobasa (1979) sebagai proses penilaian kognitif yang terdiri dari tiga karakteristik. Komitmen, Kontrol dan Tantangan. Ada tiga subjek dalam penelitian ini. Masing-masing subjek penelitian ditempatkan di daerah berbeda sehingga masing-masing subjek penelitian memiliki Hardiness dan faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhinya pada saat mengikuti program Indonesia Mengajar. Subjek IM, AO, MS mereka tertarik untuk melakukan kegiatan proses belajar dengan menggunakan metode yang berhubungan dengan lingkungan dan alam. Hal ini merupakan komitmen tiap subjek penelitian dalam mengikuti program Indonesia Mengajar. Selain itu, dukungan dari keluarga angkat, dan informasi terkait dalam proses mengajar dapat membantu subjek untuk memunculkan kepribadian tangguhnya. Mempertahankan hubungan baik dengan anak didik adalah cara subjek untuk mengembangkan kepribadian tangguhnya. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan desain fenomenologi. Data didapat lewat wawancara mendalam dan sebelumnya partisipan diberikan informed consent. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan subjek memiliki semua ciri kepribadian Hardiness sehingga subjek mampu mengatasi hambatan dalam dalam proses mengajar. Subjek sangat senang, bahagia dan bersyukur terpilih sebagai Pengajar Muda dalam program Indonesia Mengajar dan terlibat secara langsung mengajar dengan kondisi setiap sekolah yang minim fasilitas.
