Abstract

TCP is a protocol that is 75% widely used for internet services that are reliable and connection oriented. UDP is a protocol that is used to control the speed of data transmission without regard to the existence of conjestration control and error correction in a network. Both of these protocols, when a network is congested, it will cause a time-out and will send retransmissions because of its connection, as well as high delays and resulting in decreased throughput. So in this case it is necessary to test TCP and UDP protocol in realtime on the VSAT terminal by using Raspberry Pi. Quality of Service (QoS) is defined as a measure of how well the network and efforts to determine the characteristics and nature of services. To do the remote terminal Iperf3 software is used. VSAT remote terminal using Raspberry Pi does not interfere with the performance of the terminal, the throughput that can be uploaded is TCP and UDP ranging from 0.7 Mbps - 1.7 Mbps. TCP and UDP downloads range from 5 Mbps - 16 Mbps. The best conditions are morning, that is, 1.5 Mbps - 1.7 Mbps Upload and 8 Mbps - 12 Mbps Download. Jitter on the VSAT terminal is in all conditions categorized Good with peak jitter 0 ms to 47 ms. Keywords: TCP, UDP, Quality of Service, delay, throughput, jitter, Iperf3, Raspberry Pi TCP merupakan protokol yang 75% banyak digunakan untuk layanan internet yang bersifat reliable dan connection oriented. UDP merupakan protokol yang digunakan untuk mengontrol kecepatan pengiriman data tanpa memperhatikan adanya kontrol konjesti dan koreksi kesalahan di dalam suatu jaringan. Kedua protokol tersebut, ketika suatu jaringan padat, maka akan menyebabkan time-out dan akan mengirimkan retransmisi karena sifatnya yang conection, serta delay yang tinggi dan berakibat turunnya throughput. Sehingga dalam hal ini perlu dilakukan uji protokol TCP dan UDP secara realtime pada terminal VSAT dengan memanfaatkan Raspberry Pi. Quality of Service (QoS) didefinisikan sebagai ukuran seberapa baik jaringan dan upaya untuk menentukan karakteristik dan sifat layanan. Untuk melakukan remote terminal digunakan software Iperf3. Remote terminal VSAT menggunakan Raspberry Pi tidak menganggu kinerja terminal tersebut, throughput yang di dapat yaitu upload TCP dan UDP berkisar antara 0,7 Mbps – 1.7 Mbps. Download TCP dan UDP berkisar antara 5 Mbps – 16 Mbps. Kondisi terbaik adalah pagi yaitu u1.5 Mbps – 1.7 Mbps Upload dan 8 Mbps – 12 Mbps Download. Jitter pada terminal VSAT dalam segala kondisi dikategorikan Bagus dengan peak jitter 0 ms s/d 47 ms. Kata Kunci: TCP, UDP, Quality of Service, delay, throughput, jitter, Iperf3, Raspberry Pi
