Abstract
The Ministry of Trade uses the official website of the institution www.kemendag.go.id to disseminate information quickly and efficiently specifically press releases. This is because by publishing on the official site it will be accessible to anyone and at any time. In addition, the information contained therein is official information of the ministry that can be accounted for. This study aims to find out how the characteristics of the content of a press release on the Ministry of Trade website on January - March 2018. This type of research is descriptive with a quantitative approach. The method used in this study is content analysis. The sample taken is 45 press releases on the Ministry of Trade website on January - March 2018. The results showed that 94% of the press release titles could describe the contents of the message. There are 22% of the contents of a press release containing elements of 5W +1 H. Each press release contains the date of issue and contact information. There are 45% of news that contains information value and 24% of press releases that have actual news value. Press releases have a similar look and are interesting to read. The number of press releases issued around twenty to forty press releases every month. Keywords: content analysis, press release, ministry of commerce Kementrian Perdagangan menggunakan website resmi institusi www.kemendag.go.id untuk menyebarluaskan informasi secara cepat dan efisien secara khusus siaran pers. Hal ini dikarenakan dengan melakukan publikasi di situs resmi maka akan dapat diakses oleh siapa saja dan kapan saja. Selain itu informasi yang ada didalamnya merupakan informasi resmi kementerian yang dapat dipertanggungjawabkan isinya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana karakteristik isi siaran pers pada website Kementrian Perdagangan periode Januari – Maret 2018. Jenis penelitian ini bersifat deskriptif dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah analisis isi. Sampel yang diambil yaitu 45 press release pada website Kementrian Perdagangan periode Januari – Maret 2018. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat 94 % judul siaran pers yang dapat menggambarkan isi pesan. Terdapat 22 % isi siaran pers yang mengandung unsur 5W +1 H. Tiap press release berisi tanggal penerbitan dan kontak narahubung. Terdapat 45 % berita yang mengandung nilai informasi dan 24 % siaran pers yang memiliki nilai berita aktual. Siaran pers memiliki tampilan yang senada dan menarik untuk dibaca. Jumlah siaran pers yang diterbitkan sekitar dua puluh sampai empat puluh siaran pers setiap bulannya Kata kunci : analisis isi, siaran pers, kementerian perdagangan
