Abstract
This study aims to determine whether there is an influence of parenting patterns on self-concept adolescents in Rusun Marunda Cilincing Jakarta Utara. Sampling was done by Incidental sampling technique with the number of subjects as many as 100 peoples. The measuring tool in this research is self concept scale with scale of TSCS (Tennesee Self Concept Scale) of Fitts which have been adapted. Tennesee Self Concept Scale (TSCS) was developed by William H. Fitts, 1965 and parenting scales using the Parental Authority Questionnaire (PAQ) developed by Buri (1991) that has been adapted. Each scale has a reliability of 0.889 for self-concept and reliability value on parenting scale is 0.946. The results of research obtained showed a positive correlation of 0.590 and sig 0.000, which means there is a positive correlation between parenting patterns with adolescent’s self-concept in Rusun Marunda Cilincing Jakarta Utara, and R square 0.349 or 34.9%. The contribution of independent variables used in the scale parenting can affect as much as 34.9% variation of dependent variable (self concept). While the rest equal to 65.1% influenced by other variable not included in this research. Key words: parenting, self concept. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah ada pengaruh pola asuh terhadap konsep diri remaja di Rusun Marunda Cilincing Jakarta Utara. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan teknik Insidental sampling dengan jumlah subjek sebanyak 100 orang. Alat ukur pada penelitian ini adalah skala konsep diri dengan skala TSCS (Tennesee Self Concept Scale) milik Fitts yang sudah diadaptasi. Tennesee Self Concept Scale (TSCS) dikembangkan oleh William H. Fitts, 1965 dan skala pola asuh dengan menggunakan Parental Authority Questionnaire (PAQ) yang dikembangkan oleh Buri (1991) yang telah diadaptasi. Masing-masing skala memiliki reliabilitas sebesar 0,889 untuk konsep diri dan nilai reliabilitas pada skala pola asuh adalah 0,946. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan korelasi positif sebesar 0.590 dan sig 0.000, yang berarti ada hubungan positif antara pola asuh dengan konsep diri remaja di Rusun Marunda Cilincing Jakarta Utara, dan dipeoleh nilai R square sebesar 0,349 atau 34,9%. Sumbangan variabel independen yang digunakan dalam skala pola asuh mampu mempengaruhi sebesar 34,9% variasi variabel dependen (konsep diri). Sedangkan sisanya sebesar 65,1% dipengaruhi oleh variabel lain yang tidak dimasukkan dalam penelitian ini. Kata kunci: pola asuh, konsep diri
