Abstract

PT Astra Daihatsu Motor is one of the automotive manufacturers in Indonesia that produces four-wheeled vehicles with Toyota and Daihatsu brands. One of the products produced is the Van TMC variant unit which is exported to Japan. The obstacles faced are the high Appearance defect in the painting 2 process of 0.97 DPP (Defect per Production) with the dominant defect of the Sanding Mark defect with a percentage of 85.91%, so that the problem can reduce the level of productivity. For this reason, quality improvement is needed to reduce the defect so that the 0.5 DPP target can be achieved. As a solution one way that can be done is to identify and analyze the causes of disability by applying the PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Action) method, then identifying the factors and root causes of disability with a causal diagram, and the 5W 1H stage that will facilitate research. in finding the problem that occurred and finding a repair solution. The data processing process is carried out with 7 Tools QC support. The results of the evaluation of this implementation were a decrease in the Appearance defect of the painting 2 process from 0.97 DPP to 0.46, and a decrease in the dominant defect, namely the Sanding Mark defect of 85.91% to 21.45% and an increase in capability. Keywords: PDCA Method, 7 Tools QC, 5W 1H, DPP (Defect Per Production) PT Astra Daihatsu Motor merupakan salah satu produsen otomotif di Indonesia yang memproduksi kendaraan roda empat dengan merk Toyota dan Daihatsu. Salah satu produk yang dihasilkan yaitu unit varian Van TMC yang di ekspor ke Jepang. Adapun kendala yang dihadapi adalah tingginya defect Appearance pada proses painting 2 sebesar 0,97 DPP (Defect Per Produksi) dengan cacat dominan defect Sanding Mark denga presentase sebesar 85,91 %, sehingga masalah tersebut dapat menurunkan tingkat produktivitas. Untuk itu perlu adanya perbaikan kualitas menurunkan defect agar target 0.5 DPP dapat tercapai. Sebagai solusi salah satu cara yang dapat dilakukan adalah mengidentifikasi dan menganalisa faktor penyebab kecacatan dengan menerapkan metode PDCA (Plan–Do–Check–Action), kemudian dilakukan pengidentifikasian faktor dan akar penyebab kecacatan dengan diagram sebab akibat, dan tahapan 5W 1H yang akan memudahkan penelitian dalam menemukan permasalahan yang terjadi dan menemukan solusi perbaikannya. Proses pengolahan data dilakukan dengan adanya dukungan QC 7 Tools. Hasil evaluasi dari implementasi ini adalah menurunnya defect Appearance proses painting 2 dari 0.97 DPP menjadi 0.46, serta menurunnya cacat dominan yaitu defect Sanding Mark dari presentase 85,91 % menjadi 21,45 % dan terjadi peningkatan kapabilitas.
