Abstract

This study was conducted to determine the relationship between conformity withal perception of bullying in high school students in Jakarta. This study uses the social perception theory of Myers (2011) and the bullying sense of Rigby (2007) concluded that perception of bullying is the impression received by the individual senses that are organized and interpreted to give meaning, understanding and to form an individual impression about bullying behavior . Sears conformity theory (2006) suggests that a behavior displayed by individuals caused others also displayed it. This research uses non experimental quantitative design with spearman correlation and using technique of accidental sampling method with the criteria of samples is a high school student 15-19 years old. The result of this research shows that there is a significant positive r : 0,576** dan siginifikan (two-tailed) = 0.000 < 0,05, correlation between conformity and perception of bullying and there is unidirectional relationship of those correlation, the higher it is the higher also the perception of bullying otherwise the lowest it is the lowest also the perception of bullying. Key Words : Conformity, Perception of Bullying Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara konformitas dengan persepsi terhadap bullying pada pelajar tingkat SMA di Jakarta. Penelitian ini menggunakan teori persepsi sosial Myers (2011) dan pengertian bullying dari Rigby (2007) yang disimpulkan bahwa persepsi terhadap bullying adalah kesan yang diterima oleh panca indera individu yang diorganisasikan dan diinterpretasikan guna memberikan makna, pemahaman dan terbentuknya suatu kesan terhadap individu mengenai perilaku bullying. Teori konformitas Sears (2006) mengemukakan bahwa suatu perilaku yang ditampilkan oleh individu dikarenaka orang lain juga menampilkan perilaku tersebut. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain kuantitatif non eksperimental dengan korelasi spearman dan menggunakan teknik sampling metode accidental sampling dengan kriteria sampel pelajar tingkat SMA usia 15-19 tahun. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan terdapat hubungan positif yang kuat secara signifikan r : 0,576** dan siginifikan (two-tailed) = 0.000 < 0,05 antara variabel konformitas dengan variabel persepsi terhadap bullying pada siswa/i SMA di Jakarta dan memiliki hubungan yang searah, dimana semakin tinggi konformitas siswa/i maka semakin tinggi juga persepsi terhadap bullying dan sebaliknya semakin rendah konformitas siswa/i maka persepsi terhadap bullying rendah.
