Abstract

Gatekeeping is a term used for actions or activities to decide what news material will be broadcast and what material is not feasible to broadcast. The Gatekeeping mechanism in the IDX channel is very influential on the management of the news. Because with the Gatekeeper the production process and reporting are better and can be accepted to the communicant so that misunderstandings do not occur. This research was conducted to find out the mechanism of gatekeeping in the production process of news in the IDX Channel News Screen news program. By using the theoretical basis of Gatekeeping kurt lewin. This study uses a qualitative approach with the type of descriptive research by conducting an in-depth interview with informants. The results of this study discuss about the mechanism of gatekeeping in the news screen carried out by the gate keepers in the program. By using the gatekeeping process, researchers know more about the process of making the news from the beginning of looking for issues, writing, writing, news visualization, to the stage of broadcasting in the studio. Thus the researchers get an overview of the gatekeeping mechanism that is run by the gatekeepers programmed News Screen news. This study concludes that the mechanism of gatekeeping in the news program is influenced by several factors. These factors will make the news that will be broadcast better and be accepted by IDX Channel audiences Gatekeeping adalah istilah yang digunakan untuk tindakan atau kegiatan memutuskan materi berita apa saja yang akan disiarkan dan materi apa saja yang tidak layak disiarkan. Mekanisme Gatekeeping di IDX channel sangat berpengaruh pada sebuah manajemen pemberitaan tersebut. Karena dengan adanya Gatekeeper proses produksi dan pemberitaan menjadi lebih baik dan bisa di terima ke komunikan agar tidak terjadi kesalah pahaman. Penelitian yang dilakukan ini untuk mengetahui mekanisme gatekeeping di dalam proses produksi pemberitaan di program berita News Screen IDX Channel. Dengan menggunkaan landasan teori Gatekeeping kurt lewin. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan tipe penelitian deskriptif dengan melakukan wawanacra mendalam terhadap narasumber. Hasil penelitian ini membahasa tentang bagaimana mekanisme gatekeeping di news screen yang dilakukan oleh para gate keeper di dalam program tersebut. Dengan menggunakan proses gatekeeping peneliti mengetahui lebih dalam tentang proses pembuatan berita tersebut dari awal mencari isu, pembuatan naskah, pendubbingan, penegditan visual berita, sampai dengan tahap penyiaran di dalam studio. Dengan demikian peneliti mendapatkan gambaran tentang mekanisme gatekeeping yang dijalankan oleh para gatekeeper diprogram berita News Screen. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa mekanisme gatekeeping di dalam program berita tersebut dipengaruhi beberapa faktor. Faktor faktor ini yang akan membuat pemberitaan yang akan di tayangkan menjadi lebih baik dan dapat diterima oleh khalayak IDX Channel.
