Abstract

This research aims to clarify whether there is any relationship between the life style of hedonism with an impulsive buying behavior in the purchase of fashion clothing. The approach was conducted in this research is quantitative with the questionnaire or survey method using the technique of accidental sampling. The number of respondents in this study as many as 125 students. The hedonism lifestyle using a scale of AIO (activity, interest, and opinion) that consists of 32 items, whereas the impulsive buying was measured using IBT (Impulsive Buying Tendency) which consists of 20 items. The result of the research shows that there is a significant relationship between life style of hedonism with an impulsive buying behavior towards the purchase of fashion clothing on students with r 0710 > p 0.05 this indicates that more positive lifestyle hedonism will be the higher the impulsive buying behavior towards the purchase of fashion clothing on students, as well as vice versa. Key Words: Lifestyle Hedonism, Impulsive Buying, Fashion Clothing Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan apakah ada hubungan antara gaya hidup hedonisme dengan perilaku impulsive buying pada pembelian fashion pakaian. Pendekatan yang dilakukan dalam penelitian ini adalah kuantitatif dengan metode survei atau kuisioner yang menggunakan teknik accidental sampling. Jumlah responden dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 125 mahasiswa. Gaya hidup hedonisme menggunakan skala AIO (activity, interest, and opinion) yang terdiri dari 32 item, sedangkan impulsive buying diukur menggunakan IBT (Impulsive Buying Tendency) yang terdiri dari 20 item. Hasil dari penelitian menunjukkan adanya hubungan yang signifikan antara gaya hidup hedonisme dengan perilaku impulsive buying terhadap pembelian fashion pakaian pada mahasiswa dengan r 0.710 p>0.05 hal ini menunjukkan bahwa semakin positif gaya hidup hedonisme maka akan semakin tinggi perilaku impulsive buying terhadap pembelian fashion pakaian pada mahasiswa, begitupun sebaliknya.
