Abstract

The Cases of sexual violence much happen anywhere. Teenager is among the many that become victims of sexual violence. Many factors can make teens as victims, among them is the lack of knowledge about sexual violence. Therefore, it needs a media that can provide education about sexual violence, one of them is book. A book that is able to provide learning on the reader so that stimulate them to think, named educational books. Data such as images and text that is well-managed and interesting will have an impact on the growing interest in reading. The purpose of this design is for teenagers get their source of information about sexual violence that does not saturate and also help to increase interest in reading. For that, the method used in this design is to combine the concept of illustration book with the use of image composition and more shapes and varied colors. The book contains information on sexual violence such as where it occurred, who did it, how to protect themselves from sexual violence until important contacts can be reached. The advantages of this book is to present a fun visual and make readers do not quickly get bored with a topic quite seriously. With the composition of the design, the authors conclude that teens can more easily understand the contents presented with illustrations and visual books make them more enjoy the process of reading. Key Word: sexual violence, illustration, teenager, education book, reading interest Kasus kekerasan seksual sedang marak terjadi di mana saja. Remaja merupakan kalangan yang banyak menjadi korban kekerasan seksual. Banyak faktor yang dapat menjadikan remaja sebagai korban, di antaranya adalah kurangnya pengetahuan mengenai kekerasan seksual itu sendiri. Oleh karena itu dibutuhkannya sebuah media yang dapat memberikan edukasi tentang kekerasan seksual salah satunya adalah buku. Buku yang mampu memberikan pembelajaran pada pembaca sehingga merangsang mereka untuk berpikir yaitu buku edukasi. Data seperti gambar maupun teks yang dikelola dengan baik dan menarik akan berdampak pada tumbuhnya minat baca. Maksud dari perancangan ini adalah agar remaja mendapatkan sumber informasi tentang kekerasan seksual yang tidak menjenuhkan dan juga membantu menumbuhkan minat baca. Untuk itu, metode yang digunakan pada perancangan ini adalah dengan memadukan konsep buku ilustrasi dengan penggunaan komposisi gambar dan bentuk yang lebih banyak serta warna yang bervariasi. Buku ini sendiri berisi tentang informasi kekerasan seksual seperti di mana tempat terjadinya, siapa pelakunya, bagaimana melindungi diri dari kekerasan seksual sampai kontak penting yang dapat dihubungi. Kelebihan buku ini adalah menyajikan visual yang menyenangkan dan membuat pembaca tidak cepat bosan walaupun mengangkat topik yang cukup serius. Melalui susunan perancangan tersebut, penulis menyimpulkan bahwa remaja dapat lebih mudah memahami isi yang disajikan dengan ilustrasi serta visual buku membuat mereka lebih menikmati proses membaca.
