Abstract
Furniture is equipment used to support various human daily activities both in home, work place and public space. The tendency of people in choosing furniture, especially for home supplies, still based on the place where the furniture will be placed or they only buy furniture to fill empty spaces in their home. Meanwhile, today’s residences that are built tend to have relatively small size and make the occupant cannot put in all the furniture into their home. However, people’s needs for furniture still must be fulfilled. A lot of furniture has been designed to solve that problem but most of them only combine the typology of furniture itself and it is not maximal enough to solve the problem of this small space. To make furniture that can contain a number of activities it can be done by using the approach of people’s activities and behaviour in using furniture, which is considered with the theory of hybrid and body’s measurement. The result of this design has the shape of furniture that contains a number of activities such as seating, reclining, storing, eating, using laptop and studying without eliminating other functions of each part when one part is used. Other than that, this furniture also features some parts that can support multitasking activities. By putting several activities into single furniture, the usage of the furniture will be more optimal. Keywords : furniture, activities, multitasking, small space Furniture merupakan perlengkapan yang digunakan penghuni untuk mendukung aktivitas sehari-hari baik di tempat tinggal, tempat kerja maupun tempat umum. Kecenderungan masyarakat dalam memilih furniture, terutama untuk di tempat tinggal, masih berdasarkan tempat dimana furniture tersebut nantinya akan diletakkan atau mereka membeli furniture hanya untuk mengisi ruang kosong ditempat tinggalnya. Sedangkan tempat tinggal yang dibangun sekarang ini memiliki ukuran yang relatif kecil dan membuat mereka tidak dapat memasukkan semua furniture ke dalam tempat tinggalnya. Padahal, kebutuhan masyarakat akan furniture tetap harus terpenuhi. Sudah banyak furniture yang dibuat untuk mengatasi permasalahan ini, tetapi kebanyakan hanya menggabungkan tipologi furniturenya saja sehingga kurang maksimal untuk mengatasi permasalahan small space ini. Untuk membuat furniture yang dapat menampung sejumlah aktivitas, dapat menggunakan pendekatan aktivitas dan perilaku manusia terhadap furniture yang kemudian dipertimbangkan dengan teori konsep hybrid, ergonomi dan antropometri tubuh manusia. Hasil dari penciptaan karya ini berupa furniture yang menampung sejumlah aktivitas seperti duduk, berbaring, menyimpan, makan, menggunakan laptop & belajar tanpa menghilangkan fungsi lain dari setiap bagian saat salah satu fungsinya digunakan. Selain itu, furniture ini juga dilengkapi bagian-bagian yang dapat mendukung aktivitas multitasking. Dengan dimasukkannya sejumlah aktivitas ke dalam satu furniture, maka penggunaannya akan jadi lebih maksimal. Kata kunci : furniture, aktivitas, multitasking, ruang terbatas
