Abstract

This thesis discusses about commitment form of PT Telekomunikasi Cellular which is called Telkomsel As a company which prioritizes the service quality and availability of network with the widest and largest coverage in Indonesia. So it can reach out big cities until outline area. On the Activity, Telkomsel always monitor and watch feedback from people. The purpose of research in this thesis is to know how the activity of Media Monitoring by Corporate Communication in monitoring Opinion and Public response about service which provided by PT Telekomunikasi Cellular. Activity of Corporate Communication in managing Media Monitoring is significant to note, because its build positive image to the company. Media Monitoring activities conducted based on the theory on William J. Comcowich's book which is ‘Theory of Media Monitoring’. This thesis uses descriptive research model with descriptive qualitative method. The primary data collection technique was done by in-depth interviews with the involved parties in monitoring activities, and for secondary data obtained by observation, literature study and documentation. Based on the results of research on activities of Corporate Communication at Area II Jabodetabek-Jabar PT Telekomunikasi Cellular, Used Media Monitoring as tool with purpose to monitor opinion and the level of Satisfaction of the Society for the service provided, whether the Company has positive or negative image even neutral from users perspective. So the company has a benchmark in assessing performance, if the issue found will fixed quickly to keep Telkomsel always be the best company in terms of performance, service, public relation and the level of products utilization. In this study concluded that monitoring media activity as a monitoring tool of public opinion and news about the company is very useful to improve customer satisfaction and maintain the image company to keep positive perspective from society. Skripsi ini membahas mengenai Sebagai bentuk wujud komitmen PT Telekomunikasi Selular sebagai perusahaan yang mengutamakan kualitas dan ketersediaan kapasitas jaringan telekomunikasi terluas dan terbesar guna dapat menjangkau kedaerah besar maupun kecil, perusahaan melakukan aktifitas media monitoring sebagai media yang memantau opini masyarakat. Tujuan pada penelitian ini meliputi untuk mengetahui bagaimana Aktivitas Media Monitoring oleh Corporate Communication dalam memantau Opini Masyarakat pada PT Telekomunikasi Selular. Penelitian yang dilakukan ini untuk mengetahui Aktivitas Corporate Communications PT Telekomunikasi Selular dalam mengelola Media Monitoring sebagai media yang membangun Citra perusahaan positif dengan menggunakan landasan teori Media Monitoring yang ada didalam buku William J. Comcowich yaitu Theory Media Monitoring. Tipe penelitian pada skripsi ini menggunakan tipe penelitian deskriptif dengan metode penelitian, yaitu deskriptif kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data primer berupa wawancara mendalam dan data sekunder berupa observasi, studi kepustakaan, dan data dokumentasi. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang telah didapatkan adalah Corporate Communication pada PT Telekomunikasi Selular Area II Jabotabek-Jabar menggunakan Media Monitoring dalam Aktivitas perusahaan dengan bertujuan untuk memantau Opini Masyarakat, sejauh mana perusahaan memiliki Citra dan Reputasi apakah potitif, negatif atau netral dimata masyarakatnya. Dengan begitu perusahaan akan lebih termotovasi untuk menjadi perusahaan yang terbaik dalam hal kinerja, hubungan dengan publik, ataupun produknya. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa Aktivitas Media Monitoring sebagai media yang memantau pemberitaan dan mengetahui opini serta kritik masyarakat yang langsung ditunjukan kepada perusahaan. Kata Kunci : aktivitas media monitoring, corporate communication, pemantauan opini masyarakat.
