Abstract
Wimax menjadi salah satu kandidat untuk penerapan teknologi Broadband dengan mempertimbangkan aspek keamanan dalam implementasinya memberikan nilai lebih pada sistem ini. Keamanan Wimax menggunakan metode Autentikasi yang menjamin hanya pengguna yang berhak yang akan mendapatkan koneksi dalam jaringan Wimax. Penelitian ini telah berhasil memodelkan mekanisme untuk Autentikasi yang diterapkan pada Layer MAC (Medium Access Control). Pada sistem WIMAX untuk aspek keamanan yang digunakan adalah Encryption Key Sequence (EKS) yang merupakan deretan kunci terenkripsi dan Connection Identifier (CID) yang dikirimkan ke Base Station (BS).
