Abstract

ABSTRACT This research was about the competence of audit evidence. The purpose of this research is to prove empirically the suitability of the theory with practice by analyzing the level of competency of audit evidence obtained by auditors in financial audit of state ownership enterprises conducted by BPK in the 2007-2008 audit period. The Kind of research used in this study is correlational research, which aims to determine the relationship between the dimensions in one variable, namely the relevance dimension, the source of the evidence, timeliness, objectivity, and how to obtain evidence, against the competence of audit evidence variable. The result of this research will be showing that the level of competency of audit evience in the year 2007-2008 was 79.82% which means that the examination of evidence used was competent. In 2007, the level of competence at 78.59% than 87.84% for 2008.
