Abstract

The purpose of this study to map, define and solve problems in the production process at the Department of Production on Manganese Dry Battery Division, PT. Panasonic Gobel Energy Indonesia. The company is a manufacturing industry that produces one of the sources of energy namely Manganese Dry Batteries, Lithium Batteries, Battery Appliances and one of the components for the automotive industry. In operation, the company could not be separated from issues of quality control in maintaining the stability of product quality. This research is focused on quality issues as a result of defective products that are difficult eliminated resulting in losses for the company. Analysis of the PDCA approach or Plan-Do- Check-Action and Quality Control Tools (QC Tools) as a method of solving problems and using 5W + 1H, used by the author to find the root of the problem and how to improve them. The results of this study indicate that the PDCA approach is one of the most effective methods to solve the problems of quality control, especially the damage/defective products occur in a manufacturing-industry. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk memetakan, menentukan dan menyelesaikan masalah dalam proses produksi di Departemen Produksi pada Divisi Baterai Kering Mangan, PT. Panasonic Gobel Energy Indonesia. Perusahaan tersebut merupakan industri manufaktur yang memproduksi salah satu sumber energy yaitu Baterai kering Mangan, Baterai Lithium, Battery Appliances dan salah satu komponen untuk industri otomotif. Dalam pengoperasiannya, perusahaan tersebut tidak lepas dari masalah-masalah pengendalian mutu dalam menjaga kestabilan mutu produknya. Penelitian ini dilakukan fokus pada masalah mutu akibat cacat produk yang sulit ditiadakan sehingga mengakibatkan kerugian bagi perusahaan. Analisis dengan pendekatan PDCA atau Plan-Do-Check-Action dan alat-alat Pegendalian Mutu ( QC Tools ) sebagai metode penyelesaian masalah serta menggunakan 5W + 1H, digunakan oleh penulis untuk mencari akar permasalahan dan cara perbaikannya. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pendekatan PDCA merupakan salah satu metode yang cukup efektif untuk memecahkan masalah-masalah pengendalian mutu khususnya kerusakan/cacat produk yang terjadi di sebuah industri manufaktur. Kata kunci: PDCA, QC Tools, 5W +1H, kerusakan.
